Last night Sue and I decided to do something a little different for our weekly date night, We asked Chef Gary to come to our house and cook for us, before I show you the food I thought I would tell you teh story of how we know Chef Gary and why we asked him to cook for us.
We met Gary with his then Fiance Karen back in 2006, they were reccomended to us by our good frinds at David Bampton photography in Southampton, we hit it off straight away and they booked us for there wedding, We then met in May 2007 for an engagement shoot, it was so much fun and here is a photo from the shoot

We then met them for there lovely wedding on September 2nd 2007 which was at Careys Manor in the new forest, a particular favourite venue of ours. Yoo can see our blog post here, yes we have been blogging avidly since 2006
Gary and Karens Wedding on our blog also see it here on our Venue Website
We have met Karen and Gary several times since including when they reccomended un to Carl and Lucy and you can see there wedding here. and we are seeing them again at Issy and Andrews wedding, Issy was Karens bridesmaid
So recently Gary decided to start his own company, part of what he does is Dinner Parties which brings us right up to date.
So here are a few photos from last nights Dinner Party which I am pleased to say Gary and Karen joined us for.

And of course our Cocktail, for those of you not following our Cocktail anticks here on facebook, here is the recipie for last nights cocktail,
Sparkling hunt punch
half shot white rum
half shot dissarano
half shot cherry brandy
1.5 shots OJ
shake over ice, pour into a champagne flute and top up with Champagne

So our menu was as follows.
Pre-Starter: Freshly made Pitta bread, with Chef Gary’s Lime and Coriander hummus,
Wow simply amazing, we ate this in a very relazed way whilst I made cocktails, the bread was delicious and the hummus was so flaversome it was a match made in heaven and the perfect starter.
Starter: Our starter was Onion Bhaji’s served with Coriander and Chilli Yoghurt and the most delicious and colourful Chilli dip we have ever tasted.
A very moorish starter and we had to force ourselves to stop and leave room for the mains which were smelling amazing at this time.
Main course: North Indian inspired Beef curry with Cumin, Garlic, Ginger, Chilli, Tomatoes and Yoghurt. and South Indian inspired Red Lentil curry with Spinach and Coconut. Fragrant Basmati Rice with Cardomon and Lemon.
OMG what can I say, these were amazing, delicate and very tasty, I am a big curry fan and make a pretty mean curry myself but these were delicious and scrumptios, mouthwatering, need I go on
Desert: Lemongrass and honeycomb Creme Brulee and Chocolate, Chilli and Brandy Pot served with Cinnamon Tuile Biscuit.
Speechless
really it was that good.
All in all it was an amazing experience and Sue and I have booked gary to do a dinner party we are hosting with friends on the 22nd April, Chef Gary charges around £35 per head fully inclusive and you dont even have to wash up
all in all it was an amazing experience with Sublime food and great company.
Pat Chapman, You need to watch this boy cos can he make a mean curry!
