Jodie and Alex and their Gaynes Park Wedding

On Wednesday  this week Sue and I travelled up to Essex to stay over in preparation for Jodie and Alex’s beautiful wedding which was on Thursday and the beautiful Gaynes Park in Essex,  We always stay over locally if we can, when its a long way off and especially near the M25 it makes sense and takes the stress out of wedding morning travelling. Jodie and Alex were recommended to us by George and Becky who’s Rhinefield house wedding we shot back in 2008. This was our first Gaynes Park wedding and we loved it!

Sue and I started our day with Jodie and the girls at a local hotel where we had lots of fun whilst they had their hair and makeup done, we took a few detail shots and a general feel of how the day would unfold.  We then travelled to Gaynes Park to photograph Jodie getting into her wedding dress as well as lots of venue details which was amazing and in full bloom!  we then met with Alex and the boys for some great portraits and a few pre wedding guest shots before heading back to Jodie for a few emotional shots with Mum and Dad and lots of tears when she saw her Brother. Just then, Jodie said, ” I just want to be with my Alex”  I knew then that this was going to be an awesome day. 🙂

We then walked into the Orangery for a beautiful and very tearful ceremony, a ceremony full of emotion and laughter and after out onto the lawns and into the sun for an hour or so of beautiful portraits and some lovely family groups as well as some fun guest photos, this was a wonderful drinks reception in glorious sunshine.

After an hour or so we went into the wedding breakfast which was delicious sausages and mash 🙂 yum yum and again a nice relaxed feel, then the speeches and dads slideshow 😀 nice one Dad lol !   Alex, your speech was great, full of emotion and love, The Best man’s speech was amazing and had the room in fits of laughter.

After the speeches we had an hour or so again to make the most of the evening sun, somebody must be on my side coz this is the 3rd wedding in a row 🙂  so we took Jodie and Alex into the walled gardens for some portraits and off down the lanes, we then did a few with the parents and soon it was time for the cake cutting, after the cake Jodie presented Alex with the “sweet shop” that was amazing and made by her Dad.

We then went into the first Dance, again a very emotional dance thanks guys!

We would like to thank Jodie and Alex and their Parents for making us feel like part of the family,  Ted the Toastie for all his help throughout the day, Gaynes Park staff for looking after us,  and for Tony the magician for the fun, The pianist for the tunes (sorry missed your name)  and everyone else that made Thursday at Gaynes Park so very special, we loved our day in Essex and cant wait for another Essex wedding.

Have an amazing honeymoon in the Dominican Jodie and Alex

Engagement shoot at Brompton Barracks Kent

On Monday Sue and I travelled to Kent to meet with Simon and Ebba who’s wedding we are photographing in July, the main reason for the trip was to see the barracks and the venue where the wedding will take place as well as the beautiful church, Sue and I both came away very happy, its an amazing place with beautiful buildings and gardens.

Simon is a Major in the Royal engineers so teh Brompton Barracks was the ideal venue choice, Sue and I photograph a lot of military weddings and they are always so much fun.

We also made the most of the amazing weather and took some engagement photos out in the garden, Sue and I like to take photographs of all our couples before the wedding day if possible which is why we include it free in both our packages.

We are looking forward to the wedding in July and cant wait to go back.

Jules

Stuart and Sarah have a Rhinefield House Wedding

On Saturday we joined Stuart and Sarah for their wedding at Rhinefield House in the New Forest which we adore and although is a very regular venue for us we always find new places to explore and yesterday was no exception.  We started our day with Sarah and the girls in the lovely Heron suite at Rhinefield for some very relaxed shots whilst Sarah was having her hair done.  We spent our usual couple of hours flitting about between Sarah and the girls and the flowers and dress and of course her beautiful Benjamin Adams shoes, one of my favourite designers. Sarah’s dress was and Ian Stuart which is without a doubt my favourite wedding dresses and they are always a joy to photograph.

We had lots of fun with the girls but soon it was time to head off  and find Stuart who we bumped into downstairs trying to find someone to tie his cravat 🙂  Sue soon came to the rescue and all was calm, after a few shots with the boys and the amazing De Beers wedding bands it was time to head back into Rhinefield for the wedding.

Sarah and the girls were joined by Dad for an emotional few minutes before we headed into the ceremony, there is something pretty special about Rhinefield house weddings in the grand hall and after Sarah’s entrance there were few dry eyes. After an amazing ceremony we headed out onto the lawns for canope’s and bubbly followed of course by some family groups, the amazing weather allowed for photographs on the rear steps by the lake which is always nice because you get the amazing Rhinefield house in the background.

After our family groups and of course me risking life and limb to climb out and do the everybody shot,  Sue and I took Stuart and Sarah off for some portraits, we were probably our for 30 minutes yesterday because we were simply having so much fun, we ambled around the grounds and took some amazing shots, along with the must have Rhinefield wedding shots, we also took a few new ones which was a lot of fun.

We then headed into diner, cake cutting and soon after speeches, from there we had a gap before the band started so Sarah suggested (maybe prompted by me) that we go for some nice evening shots, we did and they were amazing.  we then headed back into dance and then head home.

We had yet another Rhinefield House wedding and as always thanks to our toastie David Thompson.

Hope you guys have an amazing honeymoon X

Marie Curie ladies day at the Grovesnor Casino Southampton

Last Sunday our good friend and client Danielle ran a Marie Curie ladies day at the Grovesnor Casiono Southampton, Sue and I decided we would attend and display our beautiful Boudoir photographs and I am pleased to say we generated lots of interest which will hopefully help the great cause.

Sue and I run an amazing wedding photography business, well its more a lifestyle than a business 🙂  and also our Portraits and training but we also run a very sucsesful and VERY tasteful boudoir business, and we thought because Danielle was running trhe ladies night it would work very well with our southampton Boudoir studio.

We also gave away 2 amazing gifts of a full boudoir shoot and the 2 lucky winners will be having their shoots very soon. More details over on our boudoir blog soon I hope.

Just a reminder that we are making a donation to all Boudoir, Pinup, Training and Portrait sales during April 2011 to Marie Curie cancercare.

James and Kelly get married in Richmond Park London

Yesterday we had an amazing day photographing the wedding of James and Kelly which took place in the beautiful Pembrooke Lodge in Richmond park, A beautiful, listed Georgian Mansion with bright spacious rooms and fabulous views to the West, the Lodge has eleven acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and is situated on one of the highest points in the Royal Richmond Park which provides 2500 acres of classic English countryside. A perfect wedding location for James and Kelly who live locally and for Jame’s family who had travelled over from Australia for the wedding.

We had the most amazing weather and we started our day with Kelly and the gals at the equally amazing Petersham Hotel which is just down the road from Richmond Park,  we had a great couple of hours shooting the preps including Kelly’s beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes and her awesome dress, we then shot off up to the Roebuck Pub to meet with James and the boys for a few shots before they left for Pembroke Lodge which was only 2 minutes away in Richmond park. We then headed back to the Petersham and then onto Richmond Park and into Pembrooke Lodge for a lovely ceremony followed by drinks on the terrace in glorious sunshine. Richmond park weddings and sunshine really do go very well together 🙂

We then took James and Kelly off for a walk and bumped into Peter Crouch (footballer for those of you like me), obviously I asked him to pose with Kelly and James and he was more than happy, Diamond fella, much like all those that once play for the mighty Saints 🙂  Although to be fair James is obviously a Justin Timberlake lookaliky so Crouchy wants a copy of the photo.

After a few more shots and some family moments we headed into dinner, then after some fun speeches (just what you would expect from the Aussies)  and then we whisked James and Kelly off for some amazing evening photos around Richmond Park with the Deer and a beautiful sunset. This really has been an amazing day and Sue and I adore Richmond park its as is it was created for weddings and James and Kelly let us make the most of it.

Back into Pembroke Lodge to the dancing and then a steady drive home for us,

Thanks to Dan and Ioannis the video guys for helping to make it a a real fun day.

If Carlseburg did weddings…………………….
