On Wednesday this week Sue and I travelled up to Essex to stay over in preparation for Jodie and Alex’s beautiful wedding which was on Thursday and the beautiful Gaynes Park in Essex, We always stay over locally if we can, when its a long way off and especially near the M25 it makes sense and takes the stress out of wedding morning travelling. Jodie and Alex were recommended to us by George and Becky who’s Rhinefield house wedding we shot back in 2008. This was our first Gaynes Park wedding and we loved it!
Sue and I started our day with Jodie and the girls at a local hotel where we had lots of fun whilst they had their hair and makeup done, we took a few detail shots and a general feel of how the day would unfold. We then travelled to Gaynes Park to photograph Jodie getting into her wedding dress as well as lots of venue details which was amazing and in full bloom! we then met with Alex and the boys for some great portraits and a few pre wedding guest shots before heading back to Jodie for a few emotional shots with Mum and Dad and lots of tears when she saw her Brother. Just then, Jodie said, ” I just want to be with my Alex” I knew then that this was going to be an awesome day.![]()
We then walked into the Orangery for a beautiful and very tearful ceremony, a ceremony full of emotion and laughter and after out onto the lawns and into the sun for an hour or so of beautiful portraits and some lovely family groups as well as some fun guest photos, this was a wonderful drinks reception in glorious sunshine.
After an hour or so we went into the wedding breakfast which was delicious sausages and mash
yum yum and again a nice relaxed feel, then the speeches and dads slideshow
nice one Dad lol ! Alex, your speech was great, full of emotion and love, The Best man’s speech was amazing and had the room in fits of laughter.
After the speeches we had an hour or so again to make the most of the evening sun, somebody must be on my side coz this is the 3rd wedding in a row
so we took Jodie and Alex into the walled gardens for some portraits and off down the lanes, we then did a few with the parents and soon it was time for the cake cutting, after the cake Jodie presented Alex with the “sweet shop” that was amazing and made by her Dad.
We then went into the first Dance, again a very emotional dance thanks guys!
We would like to thank Jodie and Alex and their Parents for making us feel like part of the family, Ted the Toastie for all his help throughout the day, Gaynes Park staff for looking after us, and for Tony the magician for the fun, The pianist for the tunes (sorry missed your name) and everyone else that made Thursday at Gaynes Park so very special, we loved our day in Essex and cant wait for another Essex wedding.
Have an amazing honeymoon in the Dominican Jodie and Alex
