Hampshire newborn photography – 7 day old Amelie

Although we have an amazing newborn photography website over at Baby jp its still nice to show all of our followers on this blog what we have been up to this past week and as usual we have had a great mix of work,  we had a lovely wedding with Andy and Thea, a couple of pre wedding meetings for our June weddings as well as an e-shoot with Doug and Claire in bishop stoke down by the river but more about that in a separate post later,  we also had a fantastic day on the solent in a 56′ sunseeker boat but again more about that later.

The reason for this post is to tell you a little more about our studio work and our Baby jp hampshire newborn photography which Sue and I have been working hard on for about 12 months preparing and about 10 weeks shooting now and I am both pleased and very proud to say its going very well indeed,  we already run a very successful portrait studio in Southampton Hampshire and now we also run a very successful newborn photography studio, it took quite an investment but we are both delighted that we took the plunge 🙂  Sue and I are so blessed to have an amazing multi room studio in Bassett Southampton which when we opened it back in 2005 quickly became one of Hampshire most popular portrait studios. After a few extensions and redevelopments its now perfect for all of our needs with separate rooms, including a bathroom, changing room, tv/waiting room and a nursing and changing room if required also fitted with a large widescreen TV :-).  We are hoping that our Hampshire newborn photography will be here to stay and judging by the responses we are getting we think it will be,  here are a few of our lates baby 7 day old Amelie who was an absolute star for us.

We are still offering completely free newborn shoots for babies between 4 and 15 days old (older for perms and twins) so please pop over to Baby jp to check them out and to contact us.

Our Newborns

We have lots more of these beautiful Newborn photos on our Baby jp website so please take 5 minutes to check them out and maybe leave a message on your favourite blog post, we would love that 🙂

West Sussex wedding photographer – Andy and Thea tie the knot!

On Saturday we joined Andy and Thea for their most amazing wedding day at the lovely Ramster Hall wedding venue which lies in the Surrey Hills between Chiddingfold and Haslemere in West Sussex.  Andy is in the Navy and the theme was very much “tie the knot” which fitted in very well throughout the day.  We first met Thea when we photographer her brother Olly’s wedding 3 years ago, Olly and Michelle also had the most amazing day at Manor barn (as you can see here)  and also on our venue website (here) so we knew this wedding was also going to be fun too ad we were not disappointed.

We started our day with an 07:30 road trip to Thea’s parents house in Storrington which is about 20 miles from Ramster Hall but only 3 miles from the lovely church so an ideal starting place,  we spent an hour or so photographing a few details including Thea’s amazing Ian Stuart dress which as you know are my favourites as well as getting reacquainted with old friends which was lovely, we then headed towards the church to meet the Vicar Derek and then to the local pub the meet Andy and the Navy chaps and ladies all looking very smart in uniform,  we took a few shots and walked back to the lovely church for some pre wedding photos.  Before Thea made her entrance I watched and photographed the guests arriving and being greeted by Derek the vicar and I was warmed by his style and attitude, he was just as you would want a vicar to be, warm, welcoming, friendly and obliging,  sadly not your typical vicar !

Thea then arrived looking amazing and was walked by a tearful Dad into the church which was full of anticipation with lots of ewws and ahhs and the best wedding service I have experienced for many years, Derek truly is my favourite vicar for a good few years, well done Derek 🙂 after the service we headed outside to be greeted by the sword arch and then confetti before heading back to Ramster hall for photos and fun, We took Andy and Thea straight off into the gardens for photos whilst the guests arrived and spent 20 minutes walking around the beautiful gardens taking some amazing photos which I know Andy and Thea will love before we headed back to the Ramster hall courtyard where the guests were enjoying canapés and Pimms in the sunshine,  after a few family groups and lots of relaxed photos we headed into dinner which was followed by some very emotional and fun speeches and then back into the courtyard for an hour before the evening commenced, this hour gave us time for some fun photos messing around with Andy and Thea and was a great laugh and well worth scheduling in if you have an early wedding.

We were soon back inside for the cake cutting, with Andy’s sword of course then straight into the first dance which was sung by the amazing band, we shot the first dance and a few more songs before Sue and I said our many goodbyes and headed the 50 miles home fulfilled and very happy, this was our first wedding at Ramster hall wedding venue but I hope not our last, its a lovely place full of opportunities.

It was great to see a lot of old friends including Thea’s lovely parents Keith and Linda and well as being reminded by Olly and Michelle just how lucky we are to make such wonderful friends from our work, Olly and Michelle’s wedding was an all time favourite for us and they  now live in Australia and Sue and I plan to visit them soon to tie in with some work we have planned there.

Thanks to you all for a fab wedding but mostly thank you sincerely to Andy and Thea for being so much fun and not once saying no to all the walking for photos around your amazing venue,  we loved getting to know you guys so much.

Jules x

Hampshire wedding photographer – engagement shoot with Ben and Danielle

Yesterday we saw Ben and Danielle for their e-shoot which we offer free to all of our couples, we had planned to go outside but the weather was far from brilliant so we decided on a studio shoot,  one of the many advantages of owning an amazing studio I guess :-).   We have known both Ben and Danielle for many years so were very pleased when a couple of years ago they booked us to photograph their wedding.

We are so looking forward to a fun day at Northbrook Park in June.

Here are a few of our fans from yesterday.

Andover wedding photography – Jarred and Amy get married at NormanCourt Barn

On Saturday we met with Jarred and Amy for our second wedding of the weekend and thankfully the weather had changed and boy what a change it was !  We started our day with Amy at home in Andover and spent an hour or so doing preparation photos and getting to know the girls and Mum before we headed off to the lovely St Mary’s church in Andover where we met Jarred (taking a nap after a heavy night)  LOL  and of course the boys,  we had a fun 30 minutes and then Amy arrived looking stunning and walked into a stunned church for a truly lovely service,  Walking back down the isle Amy and Jarred danced a little jig which was a first for us, these 2 truly are meant for each other and were a joy to get to know and to photograph.

After the service we headed outside for some photos in the warm sun before heading off to Norman Court Barn which is a brand new wedding venue and we loved it, we took Amy and Jarred down to the river for some beautiful portraits and then some lovely family groups before heading into dinner and speeches.

Amy and Jarred met when Amy’s family took her out for Dinner on her 18th Birthday to Jarred’s parents restaurant and the rest as they say is history 🙂

Amy and Jarred chose our small package so Sue and I headed off home then after what can only be described as an amazing wedding.  I am sure I will be blogging about these 2 again very soon, I sure hope so.

Thanks Guys,  You ROCK !

Jules

Hampshire wedding photography – Simon and helen get married at Rivervale Barn

Thursday saw our first wedding of this week with the lovely Simon and Helen at  Rivervale Barn in Yately ,   We started our day with Helen in the cottage attached to Rivervale which has to be one of the prettiest preparation rooms attached to a wedding barn in Hampshire, here we did a few preparation shots, Helen arrived about 40 minutes late 🙂 so time was tight to say the least but we managed to get everything covered between us,  After this we headed outside to see Simon and the boys for a few photos by which time the rain had started drizzling but not to be put off we headed for the gardens,  we then headed back to Helen and into the beautiful ceremony room for a lovely service.

Afterwards we headed back into the main hall for the drinks reception because it was now hammering it down with rain but with big smiles we carried on and got some fun photos including our family groups back in the wonderful ceremony barn.  We also took Simon and Helen back into the cottage for some lovely relaxed portraits just in case the weather continued although I was pretty sure it would hold up at some point,  the guests were then seated for dinner and Sue and I headed off for some food, we returned after the mains and low and behold there was a break in the weather so we took Simon and Helen out into the gardens for some great portraits. We then went into the evening with a few more photos, then cake cutting and first dance.

I was asked by a guest if I hated wet weddings and she said “I bet you feel sorry for Helen” to which I replied no I don’t hate wet weddings and no I don’t feel sorry for Helen, It had been an AMAZING wedding day and one that I am sure Helen and Simon would look back on fondly for many years to come. Rain definitely does not stop play, Sue and I are proud of what we do and wet or dry that does not change, weddings are unique, organic, personal, wonderful days and as such each deserves the very best no matter what is put in our way,  We honestly love them all 🙂   I am pretty sure looking at the smiles Helen and Simon loved their day too !
