Thursday saw our first wedding of this week with the lovely Simon and Helen at Rivervale Barn in Yately , We started our day with Helen in the cottage attached to Rivervale which has to be one of the prettiest preparation rooms attached to a wedding barn in Hampshire, here we did a few preparation shots, Helen arrived about 40 minutes late
so time was tight to say the least but we managed to get everything covered between us, After this we headed outside to see Simon and the boys for a few photos by which time the rain had started drizzling but not to be put off we headed for the gardens, we then headed back to Helen and into the beautiful ceremony room for a lovely service.
Afterwards we headed back into the main hall for the drinks reception because it was now hammering it down with rain but with big smiles we carried on and got some fun photos including our family groups back in the wonderful ceremony barn. We also took Simon and Helen back into the cottage for some lovely relaxed portraits just in case the weather continued although I was pretty sure it would hold up at some point, the guests were then seated for dinner and Sue and I headed off for some food, we returned after the mains and low and behold there was a break in the weather so we took Simon and Helen out into the gardens for some great portraits. We then went into the evening with a few more photos, then cake cutting and first dance.
I was asked by a guest if I hated wet weddings and she said “I bet you feel sorry for Helen” to which I replied no I don’t hate wet weddings and no I don’t feel sorry for Helen, It had been an AMAZING wedding day and one that I am sure Helen and Simon would look back on fondly for many years to come. Rain definitely does not stop play, Sue and I are proud of what we do and wet or dry that does not change, weddings are unique, organic, personal, wonderful days and as such each deserves the very best no matter what is put in our way, We honestly love them all
I am pretty sure looking at the smiles Helen and Simon loved their day too !
