West Sussex wedding photographer – Andy and Thea tie the knot!

On Saturday we joined Andy and Thea for their most amazing wedding day at the lovely Ramster Hall wedding venue which lies in the Surrey Hills between Chiddingfold and Haslemere in West Sussex.  Andy is in the Navy and the theme was very much “tie the knot” which fitted in very well throughout the day.  We first met Thea when we photographer her brother Olly’s wedding 3 years ago, Olly and Michelle also had the most amazing day at Manor barn (as you can see here)  and also on our venue website (here) so we knew this wedding was also going to be fun too ad we were not disappointed.

We started our day with an 07:30 road trip to Thea’s parents house in Storrington which is about 20 miles from Ramster Hall but only 3 miles from the lovely church so an ideal starting place,  we spent an hour or so photographing a few details including Thea’s amazing Ian Stuart dress which as you know are my favourites as well as getting reacquainted with old friends which was lovely, we then headed towards the church to meet the Vicar Derek and then to the local pub the meet Andy and the Navy chaps and ladies all looking very smart in uniform,  we took a few shots and walked back to the lovely church for some pre wedding photos.  Before Thea made her entrance I watched and photographed the guests arriving and being greeted by Derek the vicar and I was warmed by his style and attitude, he was just as you would want a vicar to be, warm, welcoming, friendly and obliging,  sadly not your typical vicar !

Thea then arrived looking amazing and was walked by a tearful Dad into the church which was full of anticipation with lots of ewws and ahhs and the best wedding service I have experienced for many years, Derek truly is my favourite vicar for a good few years, well done Derek:-)after the service we headed outside to be greeted by the sword arch and then confetti before heading back to Ramster hall for photos and fun, We took Andy and Thea straight off into the gardens for photos whilst the guests arrived and spent 20 minutes walking around the beautiful gardens taking some amazing photos which I know Andy and Thea will love before we headed back to the Ramster hall courtyard where the guests were enjoying canapés and Pimms in the sunshine,  after a few family groups and lots of relaxed photos we headed into dinner which was followed by some very emotional and fun speeches and then back into the courtyard for an hour before the evening commenced, this hour gave us time for some fun photos messing around with Andy and Thea and was a great laugh and well worth scheduling in if you have an early wedding.

We were soon back inside for the cake cutting, with Andy’s sword of course then straight into the first dance which was sung by the amazing band, we shot the first dance and a few more songs before Sue and I said our many goodbyes and headed the 50 miles home fulfilled and very happy, this was our first wedding at Ramster hall wedding venue but I hope not our last, its a lovely place full of opportunities.

It was great to see a lot of old friends including Thea’s lovely parents Keith and Linda and well as being reminded by Olly and Michelle just how lucky we are to make such wonderful friends from our work, Olly and Michelle’s wedding was an all time favourite for us and they  now live in Australia and Sue and I plan to visit them soon to tie in with some work we have planned there.

Thanks to you all for a fab wedding but mostly thank you sincerely to Andy and Thea for being so much fun and not once saying no to all the walking for photos around your amazing venue,  we loved getting to know you guys so much.
