Important things to read about our wedding photography

Because Sue and I know that its a daunting task choosing a wedding photographer we thought we would post this “sticky blog post” with a few key pages to read before choosing your wedding photographer. We are very lucky that most of our couples find us through their friends and if you one of those then this will still make an interesting read.

Read some lovely comments from our past wedding clients.

Check out some of the lovely venues we have worked at over the years.

15 reasons why you should book Sue and I to photograph your wedding.

I hope you enjoyed looking through those pages and Sue and I very much look forward to hearing from you

Did you know we also do photo workshops of all kinds

Visit our dedicated workshop website here

Yesterday Sue and I ran one of our very popular One-2-One workshops for Sheila who we met a couple of years ago when we photographed her Niece’s wedding at Rhinefield House.   Sheila has recently retired (very early I might add) and was looking to move from her old film camera to a swanky newfangled digital camera so she contacted us to book in our “Getting to know your camera” workshop and wanted advice on which camera to but so I suggested she come along and use our cameras to see what she preferred, we have a selection of cameras to try and it makes sense if your in the market.

We started our day in the studio going through basic camera setups as well as some more in-depth focusing and metering setup’s and chatting about the various settings that we use to achieve “the look” we want, this is perfectly demonstrated with the first 2 photos,  the first photo was shot on an automatic mode and the second shot in Apeture priority mode. The first shot in auto mode captures the wire perfectly, the second ignores it, we teach you how to do this as well as lots of other little tricks to bring out the best in a photograph.  AV mode (Apeture priority mode) is a great way to shoot because it allows you to concentrate on whats important in a photo,  We spent today doing just that which means you will see no cages or crappy backgrounds instead just beautiful photographs concentrating on the subject matter and note the foreground or background.  This style of photography is all about picking out certain elements and focusing on them perfectly demonstrated in all of these but especially the meercat photo.

We hope that you enjoy these photographs that Sheila took yesterday, we are very pleased with them as was Sheila and we feel they show off AV mode very well.

Nathan and Stephanie get married at East Close Country Hotel

On Saturday we joined Nathan and Stephanie for their wedding at the beautiful hampshire wedding venue the East Close Country Hotel which is situated in the heart of the New Forest national park here in Hampshire. The East Close Hotel A spectacular refurbishment of a Grade II listed 18th century mansion, this intimate country hotel combines understated elegance with an irresistibly laid-back comfort – the elegant accommodation evoking the graciousness and grandeur of a bygone age. History also floods into the Conqueror Inn, the adjoining gastro pub named after William the Conqueror who has strong links to the local area. The restaurant is complimented by its extensive bar area, surrounded by leather sofas and a wood burning fire, to make it perfect for socialising with friends or chilling after a fab wedding like Nathan and Steph’s.

We started our day with Steph in the bridal suite for preparations and a few lovely details before heading downstairs to meet with Nathan and the boys who had arrived in a vintage Rolls Royce which was a surprise for him, after a few shots with the lads I headed back to Steph whilst Sue photographed the hundreds of beautiful wedding details and flowers which looked amazing and filled the East Close with an amazing scent perfect for a lovely summer wedding. After another hour or so it was ready to get married and Steph was led to the ceremony room by her very proud Dad and the ceremony commenced,  lots of emotion especially from the lovely bridesmaids Steph’s best friends and lots of tears and laughter from the guests too.

Afterwards we were led into the garden by the new Mr & Mrs Meys for a couple of hours in the beautiful sunshine, this is what summer weddings should be like, Pimm’s on the lawn and everyone just chilling and enjoying the afternoon. We shot a few family groups which was fun and then we took Nathan and Steph for some portraits in the meadows and around the grounds which were lovely, Nathan and Steph chose an engagement shoot with us which made the wedding photos that little bit more comfortable for them, After the wedding portraits we did an everybody wedding shot from the upstairs window and confetti photos we were called to speeches which were outside under the large beech tree which was the perfect setting for informal speeches.

We were then called into dinner and the start of a lovely chilled evening.  Dinner was served and the Sue and I setup our FuntimeFoto’s wedding photo booth in the lovely ceremony room much as we did at last weeks East Close wedding. After dinner people once again drifted out into the sunshine but it was not long before people started to come into our FuntimeFoto’s wedding booth for some amazing fun photos,  We started with our beautiful flower girl Maddison who along with her family we met at Scott and Kim’s Rhinefield house wedding last year. Maddison just kept coming back again and again and again and every time with her cute little smile it was so much fun.

You can see there funtime fotos here

We then did a few evening shots in the bar and the first dance before heading back to finish off our funtime wedding booth.

Sue and I have known Steph and her parents since She went to school with our son Andy so it was lovely to be part of her day,  We would like to thank everybody for looking after us yesterday we have rarely been offered so many drinks and so much food at a wedding and it was heartwarming.

Lovely summer wedding with lovely people, you guys all of you should be very proud, Nathan and Steph it was the most amazing wedding and you should be very proud of them,  to everyone else, you made this a proper good wedding and you all deserve a pat on the back too 🙂

Top day…
