On Saturday Sue and I joined Becca and Adam (very aptly named Dooey from Malcolm in the middle) for their wedding day in Portsmouth and wow what a day it was. We met Adam and Becca back in October 2012 and we knew straight off that it was going to be a fun day, Adam is a very keen photographer and I love working for other photographers because they completely understand when we get creative and always go along with us, Becca is also a very creative person so we had a real fun day just as I predicted. We had planned to start our day with Becca but after a call from Adam on Friday night we started by photographing the reception venue because both families had been working on it and it looked amazing so that was our first stop. After a room shot and a few lovely details we headed across town to see Becca and the girls and we had a lovely morning and early afternoon, the details were lovely and the whole mood just so relaxed and fun that we fitted in perfectly, we then headed off towards the church which was the lovely Christ Church in Widley stopping on the way to see Adam and the boys at the pub. Once finished we headed to the church to photograph guests arriving and Becca looking stunning arriving in style.
The service was lovely and the priest was very accommodating so again we got lovely photos, after the service we did a few more relaxed photos and some family photos before everyone headed off to Broad Oak for the reception, Sue and I took Becca and Adam to the local park for photos, it was a lovely spot we found when I was racing there recently so we knew weather permitting it would be a nice spot to stop. After a few lovely photos we headed back to see the guests and straight into dinner, Sue and I had a lovely table to ourselves and enjoyed a lovely meal breaking only to grab a few photos between courses because the room was buzzing with excitement, Adam and Becca gave scratch cards as favours and quite a few people won including one lucky lady who won £100 🙂 I won £2 so all good 🙂 We then moved on to the speeches which started with Becca saying a few words and then Dad, O my goodness there was not a dry eye in the room it was such a lovely speech but the best was yet to come, Adam stood up to speak and just cried and cried it was amazing seeing him get so emotional trying to talk about his lovely wife.
After that we had an hour before the evening started so we took Adam and Becca up the road to the railway arches, not an obvious choice but I just knew it would work with these 2 and soon enough they got right into it and we have some amazing photos of that part too, after than we headed back for cake cutting and dancing and Sue and I left as the guests were about to tuck into a hog roast driving home we reflected on what an amazing day it had been.
Well done guys you made us and everyone else smile continually 🙂
Here are a few photos from the day, a couple favs then a slideshow and a link to the rest once Adam and Becca see them.
