Fiona and Dave’s beautiful summer wedding

On Saturday we joined Fiona and Dave for their beautiful summer wedding in Chichester on what turned out to be perfect  weather conditions, dry and sunny and just warm enough 🙂  We were recommended to Fiona and Dave by Peter and Anna who’s wedding we photographed a couple if years ago and like most it our amazing couples they just don’t stop singing our praises and we are so grateful.

Peter and Anna’s beautiful wedding day.

We started our day with Fiona at her mum and dads home about a mile from the church which bearing in mind it was glorious good wood weekend was a good idea,  we were greeted at the door by Fiona’s lovely mum and the words “Tea and cake”  haha I just knew it was going to be a fab day. After some scrummy homemade Victoria sponge cake and a cuppa we set to work photographing the details like dress, shoes and flowers and well as the general buzz caused by the 5 very colourful and uber happy bridesmaids and bride,  this went on for an hour before Fiona stepped I to her beautiful wedding dress and Sue and I then headed off to St Paul’s church Chichester and met with a very nervous groom 🙂  just like our last visit to St Paul’s we were made to feel very welcome and very much part of the church, exactly how I feel a church should be and most refreshing! A few shots with the boys and the girls then Fiona arrived in the same Rolls Royce that her parents were married in driven by the same lovely chap Henry. We had a few photos outside the church but it would be rude of me to keep Fiona from her waiting audience any longer so I hurried in to find my position up front waving to the ever ready Sue up on the balcony.

Fiona walked in to a very quiet and stunned church, she looked resident and her dad the good Dr Ridley looking very proud and rightly so, as she reached Dave the whole mood changed and Dave’s face lit up.  The ceremony was just perfect with Fiona’s sisters on the piano, flute and singing it was a true family occasion and a joy to be part of.

After the ceremony we had a few photos outside the church and then headed for the  beautiful gardens out the back for our family shots and confetti all of which was a lot if fun and BIG smiles.  We then headed off to our reception which was about 4 mile away and was the very pleasant Boxgrove village hall. We had an hour in the gardens shared with the local cricket club and we took some lovely relaxed photos as well as parents  and bridal party with their partners before taking Fiona and Dave off for some romantic shots. We then headed inside for details which was when we realised the wedding breakfast was running themed 🙂 how topical haha. The tables were named after significant runs and races and the too table was Alderney because Fiona had run the 2013 half marathon and Dave the 10k both in impressive times but enough about that coz Dave’s 10k is faster than mine 🙂 Wedding breakfast and table shots were fab and then the much anticipated speeches kicked off by dad who did a lovely speech and then Dave who stole the show with probably the best grooms speech I have ever heard, amazing Dave! Then a best man with a difference because he was called away to Australia with work so it was thorough video link.  Then it was time for the even more anticipated raffle !  Each guest was given a ticket and a number was drawn and there were prizes a plenty including nice wine, nice chocolate and a tin of value baked beans haha brilliant and caused lots of laughs

We then had half an hour in the gardens whilst Andy one of the ushers set up his DJ equipment for the dancing. Next was the first dance which although a shuffle it was very romantic in the beautifully lit room and a perfect time for us to say goodbye and head off home to prep for our trip to Dublin for a portrait shoot and a cheeky half marathon too.

It was an amazing wedding with amazing people and we both loved it. Fiona and Dave you guys are brilliant and so much fun to be around and it’s clear to see why you have so many friends.
