Last saturday we joined Ade and Becky for their SteamPunk wedding near Newbury. We met Ade and Becky earlier this year when our friend Lou recommended us to them and straight away we were intrigued with their wedding plans, they explained the steampunk idea and we loved it so we were very excited about today and exotically all the beautiful details.
We were not disappointed 🙂
We started the day with Becky at the beautiful Vineyard hotel where we spent a couple of hours photographing the details including my favourite ever wedding shoes, they were to die for ! The details were amazing, flowers, shoes, dresses rings, everything 🙂 After a couple of hours we left the girls and headed off to the church to meet Ade and his best man, well Best Lady actually 🙂 and still the details kept coming. Amazingly almost all of the wedding guests joined in and dressed up in all manner of things, some truly amazing outfits and accessories and all this added to the awesome theme that Ade and Becky had created.
Soon Becky arrived in a gorgeous Bentley looking stunning and in her own words very determined 🙂 because she was running late we only spent a few moments outside and was whisked into the church to a waiting crowd. The ceremony was beautiful and pretty much like any other christian wedding apart from the steampunk outfits or “fancy dress” as the vicar called it, haha. Afterwards we headed outside for some relaxed reportage for 15 minutes then the family shots and then we headed back to the reception venue which was a family friends house called Wormstall hall which was a pretty unique place too and perfectly matched the steampunk theme. The house was filled with all manner of oddities from stuffed animals to huge iron bath tubs in the hallway, a truly amazing place to host a steam punk wedding.
After a few portraits in the grounds in failing light we headed back inside to the guests who were enjoying a lovely selection of canapés and after a couple hours relaxed photos along with portraits in the billiards room of all the main wedding party we went into dinner which then led to some pretty entertaining speeches, At this point things were running behind a little but it was such an awesome day nobody cared. After the mains the toastmaster stood up and instructed people that there was a. “honestly bar” un the next room as well as deserts but before people could get to either we were having our cake cutting and first dance, which a loud WHOOP We then headed onto the dance floor for a fab first dance routine. Sue and I then said our goodbyes after a long but very interesting and fun wedding day.
This was an unusual wedding in its theme but the common theme amongst weddings was just the same as always, 2 people very much in love and a room full of friends making for a superb wedding day. We really enjoyed our first Steampunk wedding and cant wait to do it all over again.
Here are a few photos from this wonderful wedding I hope you enjoy and love them as much as we do and look forward to your comments and seeing you again soon,
