On Saturday we joined Fiona and Ben for their wedding in a lovely little church in Hampshire and we had the most amazing day with them. When Fiona and Ben found us and we got chatting it soon turned out we have a lot in common including running and Sue and I have since run with Fiona and Ben a few times and I have run a half marathon with Fiona so we have become good friends over the past few months.
Fiona and Ben chose a bespoke package starting at preparations but finishing before the wedding breakfast so bright and early on Saturday we headed off to East Tytherley to Fiona’s parents house for an hour of preps with Fiona and the girls. Lots of details and people buzzing around meant we had plenty to do before heading off to the pub to meet with Ben and the boys.
After a few photos at the pub we all headed off to the beautiful St Peters church which we walked to because it was only a stroll away and of course made for great photos.
I met with James the vicar who of course “had no rules” well as long as I did exactly what he said haha! sadly I was not allowed upfront despite there being tons of space but at least we were able to shoot from the back, Sue in the balcony and me down below. The service was surprisingly short about 35 minutes and then we headed out just as the sunshine broke through for the first time today, Hugs, kisses and confetti in the sunshine just as it should be and then a few close family groups both inside the church and out before we all walked back to Fiona’s parents house and the marquee.
We were greeted by the lovely Emma a friend of ours who helps manage Red Herring events and the bubbly was poured and the guests themselves poured onto the beautifully manicured lawns of Smithy House. Sue and I captured a few minutes of relaxed photos before cracking on with the main family photos. We had quite a few today but thats always up to our couples and Fiona and Ben chose the more formal route.
We managed a little time to take Fiona and Ben off for some couple shots before being called into dinner where we started with speeches and then cake cutting before Sue and I said our goodbyes and headed home.
Lovely wedding for a lovely couple in a lovely location 🙂
