Catherine and Tom get married

On Friday we joined Catherine and Tom for their wedding at the beautiful Clock Barn in Andover for once again what turned out to me a much sunnier day than expected, I swear we have the weather gods on our side at the moment :-).

We started our day with Catherine at Mums house in Weyhill for some prep details and a few portraits in the garden once she was dressed before we headed off to the church a few miles away for the ceremony. Once parked we chatted to the priest who was great and met with Tom and the boys for a few photos as well as a few shots of the guests enjoying the sunshine, at this stage I was still unsure how long the sun would last so fully intended to make the most of it 🙂  The ushers called everyone into church and Catherine arrived shortly afterwards in a non assuming car driven by her Dad very proudly. Sue and I took our allowed spot up on the balcony and photographed the lovely relaxed ceremony.

Outside afterwards we led straight into confetti and hugs and kisses which was lovely in the sunshine before we headed off to the Clock Barn this time in a car driven by Tom’s Dad 🙂  The barn as always looked gorgeous and we had some fun with metals and guest as they arrived before we got onto the family groups and portraiture which we did over in the natural fields and it was just perfect.

We then headed into dinner and speeches and honestly all 3 speeches were amazing, very loving, touching speeches such a rarity that all 3 are great.

After the meal we took Catherine and Tom for a couple more photos that were requested before cake cutting with a huge sword and then the first dance.

Sue and I then left after what had been a beautiful summer wedding with lovely caring people.

Here are a few photos from this wonderful wedding I hope you enjoy and love them as much as we do and look forward to your comments and seeing you again soon,

Paul and Sue at Highcliffe Castle

Last weekend we joined Sue and Paul for their wedding day at Highcliffe castle and we had a lovely day in the perfect surroundings. Highcliffe Castle is a regular venue for us and I love it, perfect ceremony room and grounds and if we are the last wedding and stay all day then the formal rooms are also pretty special too.

We started our day with Sue and the girls at home for some prep before heading to Highcliffe castle to meet with Paul and the boys as well as the other guests as they arrived. We got some nice relaxed photos of everyone enjoying the sunshine waiting for our bride to arrive and soon enough she did in a beautiful Beauford car. We dis a few shots at the entrance of the castle and then drove around to the ceremony and into the waiting guests.

The ceremony was interesting, Paul’s dad stood up for a reading and gave a full, frank and very funny 10 minute speech which was brilliant and made the whole thing very personal.

After the ceremony we spilled out into the sunshine to enjoy bubbles and photos as Sue and Paul went for a drive, A few family groups and some portraits and it was time for dinner and for us to setup our funtime booth which was very popular between the meal finishing and then into the dancing.

Another great Highcliffe castle wedding and another fab weekend.

Thanks Paul and Sue for a lovely day.

Alex and Sam get married…

On Tuesday we joined Alex and Sam for their wedding in Romsey on what turned out to be a lovely day with unexpected sunshine 🙂

We started our day unusually with the bride and groom getting ready together at their flat in Chandlers ford and met the best man and a few buddies too. Sam introduced himself as a super nerd 🙂 so we chatted and generally had a laugh debating the mac/pc debate 🙂  Obviously Mac won 🙂 and Alex was just lots of fun giving me evils all morning 🙂

After a little prep we headed off to Romsey Town hall in style thanks to our friend Mick from the Romsey Carriage co and his beautiful Riley. The ceremony was just about perfect, short and sweet and a little humour too and afterwards we headed outside into the square and off to the Ampfield golf and country club for a reception.

The venue is a lovely little golf club, quite restricting but very pretty so we did our usual mix of relaxed photos and a few family groups as well as taking Alex and Sam off in a golf buggy for a few photos.

After the reception they all headed in for dinner and that ended the formalities for this lovely wedding.

This was a last minute wedding for us and I am so pleased we took it, Lovely families and guests and a great couple Super Nerd and Garmin girl you were great.

Just about the perfect wedding…..

Last year I had a message from one of my absolute running heroes and club mate Tony “superman” Ricker’s  asking me if we were available for his and Kirsty’s wedding on August 8th. I excitedly said YES and the planning commenced. Tony has been a superb support and inspiration to me along with lots of my LRR buddies too and Kirsty has been a runcamp buddy as well as also a LRR buddy so I knew them both very well and just knew it would be a superb day.

We started our day at the Balmer Lawn in the New Forest with Kirsty, Alice and Alice 🙂 for preps and had a great couple of hours trying to stay cool (of course I am very cool ! but it was a very hot morning) haha. We captured lots of beautiful details and had so much fun zipping between rooms. We then met Tony and Kevin and had a few real fun photos in the New Forest before heading back to the girls and preparing to walk down the beautiful staircase to the ceremony.

The ceremony room looked beautiful and was silenced as Kirsty walked in with the occasional gasp or wow !  Its funny because we are all used to seeing Kirsty in her shorts and tech tops so seeing her in a beautiful wedding dress was sort of extra awesome. The ceremony was very short and sweet just as they wanted and we were soon ushered into the gardens where the sun shone and the drinks flowed and we got some lovely relaxed photos of everyone enjoying the day. Tony and Kirsty were not precious and people were invited to relax and remove jackets etc, it was all about enjoying the day and comfort and not about anything else.

We then photographed the family groups and the mandatory Lordshill Road Runner photo which I am pleased to say Sue and I were part of 🙂  and then we took Tony and Kirsty into the forest for some portraits with the ponies before heading back for details then into dinner.

After an amazing wedding breakfast came the speeches which were all absolutely fantastic especially Kevin’s which just had everyone laughing 🙂 it was getting towards evening guest time when we finished and it worked out just perfect timing for people to drift in and out enjoying the cooler evening sunshine whist we setup our wedding photo booth but before we started that we had the cake cutting and first dance.

After the dance we took Tony and Kirsty off for a few planned evening portraits simply because we knew the evening light would be perfect and Kirsty wanted to play in the nearby stream 🙂 little did we know that half the guests wanted to join her so we had so much fun with those shots.

We then headed back to our wedding photo booth and spent the remainder of the evening there and enjoying catching up with our amazing friends before heading off home about 10:30 feeling very accomplished and very very happy.

Too many people to mention here but a blanket thank you to all our LRR friends for making it awesome for us and for Tony and Kirsty, special thanks to Alice and Kevin, you are both amazing people and its obvious to everyone why you are so popular, thanks to Captain Jim for your help at the stream 😉 great captaining right there!  But seriously a great big thank you to everyone for a wonderful and very enjoyable wedding day that we absolutely loved.
