On Sunday we joined Greg and Janet for our second wedding of the week at the beautiful Ashdown Park hotel in Sussex. We both know Janet and Greg from our running and because of that it was like a family wedding for us with lots of our friends in attendance.
We started our day by leaving hone at 6am to arrive in time for breakfast at the Ashdown Park hotel before heading up to the bridal suite to see Janet and the girls getting ready. Todays wedding was a 1930’s themed wedding so details were plenty as was the fun and giggles 🙂 we spent a couple of hours with the girls and also with Greg and the best man Luke. We also did a few family portraits before the wedding, because we travelled it made sense to use our time so we offered this and it was quite popular with couples and families especially those that dressed to the theme.
We then headed down to the beautiful ceremony and into the waiting guests. The ceremony was beautiful and I especially loved the reading from Nikki which brought a few tears on. Afterwards we all spilled out onto the lawns and to the summer house for drinks and canapés and to be entertained by a 30’s jazz group whilst Sue and I took photos and enjoyed the afternoon. The grounds of Ashdown Park are truly beautiful so we were spoilt for choice and Janet and Greg were very obliging just as I expected. A couple of short hours later we were called into dinner and again it was beautifully themed. After dinner we had the speeches and then an extra gift/favour was brought to our tables which was as well as the beautiful bespoke personalised Oscar everybody had. The details and treats just kept coming.
Afterwards we all headed downstairs for coffee and then outside to enjoy the evening sun whilst the staff prepared for the party. The evening was just superb starting with the father-daughter dance but followed by 30 minutes of real fun music to get the evening going for the children and of course adults.
We then did the first dance, A live version of the “Jungle Books” I wanna be like you….. This was absolutely amazing and I loved eery minute of it, such a fab way to start the evening properly and end it for Sue and I. We headed home and uploaded the photos before heading to bed 16 hours after we left 🙂
An amazing day with amazing people and a truly beautiful venue. Janet and Greg thank you for allowing us to be part of your big day it was awesome XX
