Firstly apologies for the delay in posting this but Sue and I have just had our “end of season” break and a few days away. Last Saturday we joined Jadine and Courage for their lovely wedding in Stockbridge Hampshire so a nice local once for us. We set off from home extra early despite the 15 mile journey because it was the Romsey Show weekend but sad;ly it was horrendous weather and the show was very quiet and we drove straight past without issue, a blessing for us but with a tinge of sadness for those planning to exhibit or visit the show.
We arrived at Stockbridge and parked by the church for coffee before heading to Janine’s house for preps. We had a lot of fun with the girls and checking out the marquee for a few photos. Despite the weather we knew today was going to be a lot of fun.
After a while, we headed off to the Church to do a few arrival shots and I just love the “guests with brollies” because they do not expect a photographer to be stood in the teaming rain taking photos. Courage and his family arrived and we took a few formal shots and then Hannah one of our brides from a few years ago arrived with her children, such an unexpected treat. Jadine then arrived in a beautiful 70’s Rolls Royce which was owned by a friend and then we whisked her into the dry church. Once again we were given a very warm welcome by the church and offered the freedom to shoot wherever, Jadine was very nervous so we chose to shoot from the back today.
The ceremony was lovely and we were soon on our way our again. The rain had eased off a little so after some hugs and kisses we grabbed a few family shots at the church and then as the guests headed back to the Marquee we took Jadine and Courage down to the river test to a specially reserved private area for a few photos.
Back to the party we carried on with photos in and out of the heavy showers but that never stopped anyone enjoying themselves. We were all very well looked after and the smiles just kept coming.
Into dinner and speeches first, They were all very entertaining today and the best man/girl/woman’s especially so, Everybody loved the emoji joke
After dinner, we carried on inside and out for a few more photos whilst we waited for the céilidh band to setup and that was the first dance, Unusual but it worked very well for these too 🙂
