We are sponsoring ickle pickle to help Neonatal care

Although this year we have already donated to Wessex Cancer and Naomi House we have now chosen our charity for the next 12 months or so,  This one is very close to our hearts for several reasons,  when our Son Andy was born 27 years ago he spent a couple weeks in the special care until at Southampton and we always planned to help newborn care in some way and over the years we have.  Now that we photograph newborn babies with our Baby jp Hampshire newborn photography and we get to meet so many newborns that have benefited from neonatal care we thought it was a perfect time to support ickle pickles.  You can read all about the amazing work that ickle pickle does using our links below and you can help by sponsoring Jules for his first ever 10K run in a few weeks using the links below too.

Project 1.  Marwell 10k May 12th 2013

Well you heard it:-) I am running the Marwell 10K in May in aid of the amazing newborn baby charity ickle pickle which is IMO one of the most amazing things to be involved with.  You can read all about their amazing work here.

Advances in Neonatal medicine have realised incredible improvements in survival rates – in 1975, half of all babies born weighing less than 1.5kg (3.3 lbs) died. Compare that to today where over 90% of premature babies weighing 800g or more (equivalent to a bag of sugar) survive.

Over the same period the pressures on Neonatal care have spiralled due mainly to the expanding population of the UK and an increase in multiple births as fertility treatment has improved. With NHS budgets being continually squeezed there is a real and tangible need for public donation and support for neonatal care.

The Ickle Pickle Partnership turns gifts and donations from generous people into specialised equipment such as incubators and ventilators to help Neonatal units provide incredible levels of care for Ickle Pickles.

I am both proud and very pleased to be helping such a worthy charity,  here at Baby jp newborn photography we get our fair share of premature babies and some of them have been helped in a big way by Ickle Pickle so this charity really does effect us.

Where better to start than at then very beginning……….

Please sponsor me,  every pound counts but like I always say “a tenner counts better”;-)

Thanks all X

Here are a few of our very own iclke pickles

The Beans Noah and Florence

Kerry came for a baby bump shoot when she was expecting her twins then affectionately known as the Beans which has still stuck to this day:-) Well very unexpectedly a couple of days later the Beans were brought into this world at 33 weeks and received help from ickle pickle.  We met the Beans very early on but never really  got to photograph them until they were a year old,

Here is Noah and Florence, 2 beautiful full of life babies.

Jemma

Jemma’s Mummy and Daddy contacted up half way through there pregnancy to book Jemma in for a Baby jp newborn shoot but little did we know that Jemma would arrive at 36 weeks and a tiny 4lb 1oz  and she looked ever so tiny. But thanks to the fantastic care and to ickle pickle Jemma was soon home and yup to see us here at Baby jp Newborn photography in Southampton for her shoot.

Here is a photo of Jemma just after she was home from Hospital, like most of our babies we still keep in touch with Jemma’s Mummy and Daddy and I am pleased to say she is doing very well.

Kian

Kian was born 10 weeks early at 3lb 2oz and spent almost 7 weeks being looked after at the QA and Lisa tells me that the care was amazing,  It was Lisa (Kians Mummy) that inspired me to run  for Ickle Pickle and she was delighted that we have now chosen to support them for the whole of 2013.  Kian came to see us at Baby jp newborn photographer when he was a few months old and we had a lovely shoot,  I am very happy to say that he came back last week for his first birthday shoot and his “smash the cake shoot”

Here is the amazing little chap.

Spring has arrived at Baby jp Newborn photography

I just wanted to share this from our Baby jp website, simple because its adorable:-)

Check our website here

Since the success of our amazing Christmas shoots Sue and I have been working on our next promotion and set of props and we have come up with our beautiful Springtime collection which I am please to say is now ready.

A couple of weeks ago when we photographed Hampshire newborn Kiki (just how adorable is that name) our springtime backdrop had arrived and Pip and Kin saw it and wanted to come back for a shoot using it so yesterday we did this shoot using my favourite prop of all time………..well so far;-)

I am particularly proud of this photo of the beautiful Kiki, Sue and I have wanted a swing for a long time but they all look so “new” or “engineered” but after searching long and hard we found an amazing traditional cabinet maker working out of a crumbling old barn who sourced a couple of slabs of beautiful seasoned quarter sawn oak for us and made us this base for our swing, he also made us another Oak prop that we will reveal on the next shoot.

I am so chuffed with this swing and its made a great addition to our props as will the next couple when we show them off next week. Newborn photography is so much fun but it demands such careful planning with regards to the newborns comfort and safety which is why it suits our studio environment so well, its warm cosy and very safe which is just what you need when photographing little miracles:-)

We have more springtime photos coming this weekend as well as an amazing promotion so please keep your eye out.

If you would like to book a newborn shoot or schedule your newborn shoot in for later this year please contact us now  02380 767084   hello@babyjp.co.uk    or txt  07720325336

Hampshire newborn photography by Julian Porter

During the past year Sue and I have been photographing lots of newborn babies ranging from 4 to 12 days old and we both adore it, we also photograph older babies so if you miss the early shoot don’t panic.

We’re parents, too. We remember staring in wonder. Then we took stock. Ahead lay the most incredible journey, of growing and growth and opportunity. It hit us that it should all be remembered. So we took photo after photo from the off.

We had pictures of smiles and tears. Crawling and walking. Curious hands exploring the cot. Sleeping babies – floating by, counting their toes. And all so pink and perfect.

When we started capturing baby memories for a living, there were a few things we decided on right away.

Firstly, it’s impossible to start too early. Which might mean photographing your bump. But it should definitely mean shoots from five days old, when baby is still beautifully supple. It makes for some great sleeping shots.

Next, the joy of being a mum or dad can be everyone’s. So the photography should be, too. That’s why our pricing is simple and affordable.

If you would like to book a newborn shoot please either check out our hampshire newborn photography website or call  02380 767084   hello@babyjp.co.uk    or txt  07720325336

Here is just a small selection of our newborn babies but if you want to see them all please check out our newborn website:-)
