On Saturday we did our second wedding of this weekend when we joined Ian and Pauline for their wedding in Hamble which is very local Yachting village to us here at Julian Porter Photography in Hampshire and the perfect setting for a lovely relaxed summer wedding which exactly what it was.
We started our day with Pauline and the girls in the lovely Compass house B&B in Hamble where we were looked after by the 3 lovely bridesmaids whilst we took some beautiful detail shots of the rings, amazing shoes and dress and of course shots of Pauline and her pals in the gardens there. We then popped next door to the Bugle pub to meet up with Ian and Steve the best man for a few shots before they headed off to the wedding ceremony reception which was the lovely Winslowe House just up the road in Quob Lane West End and is owned and run by our friend Jane. Winslowe House is a perfect Hampshire wedding venue well known to us here at Julian Porter Photography and one we can highly recommend, you will be looked after by Jane and her staff and What better way to start your special day than a drive along the tree-
We arrived at Winslowe House for a coffee and soon after the Coach arrived with Ian and his guests, Pauline was a few moments later and was soon walking into the sun drenched ceremony room to see here waiting man and her wedding guests, there were around 30 for what was a lovely and very intimate ceremony in a wonderful room.
After the ceremony we wandered outside for an hour or so for champagne and nibbles and lots of lovely relaxed photos and a few family groups which was our normal mixed of elegant relaxed reportage wedding photography with a little direction thrown in to help things along, we then took the group shot out of the top window before heading off to our second venue of the day the RAF Yacht Club in Hamble which is where Ian and Pauline keep there own Yacht, The RAF Yacht club is the perfect setting for “yachties” its a beautiful location and we were lucky to have another hour for relaxed photos and we were joined by another 40 or so wedding guests so the party had really started now with lots more bubbles and LOTS of canapés ! We then headed into dinner which was the most amazing BBQ although I am surprised anyone had any room after all the canapés
We then cut the lovely cake (it really was yummy yummy, did I mention I love my job) before heading outside for another 30 minutes whilst the band prepared and the room was cleared, the first dance was fab and 20 minutes or so later the amazing Replica Rock Band kicked in with a rendition of “start” by the Jam which just happens to be my fav group ever The music was amazing and we stayed for a while before deciding it was a good time to say our goodbyes and head home, tired after 2 great wedding but totally rocked !
Thanks Ian and Pauline, it was a lot of fun…..
