Cheryl, Andrew, the boys and the legos

On Saturday we joined Andrew and Cheryl for their beautiful and very elegant wedding at Beaulieu Abbey and the Montague Arms in the New Forest.

I started my day surprising with an 05:30 40 mile cycle ride to Beaulieu, I often do this no matter where the wedding is but todays ride was a little odd because it was dark when I started and I could not get my head around why 🙂 it was early to be fair haha. Anyway as I reached Nursling it was raining and rained all the way to Beaulieu and back and was generally naff. Thankfully that was then end of the rain and the day just got better and better for Andrew and Cheryl.

We started our work day with Cheryl and the gals about 10:30 over at their home in Park Gate for some beautiful and seriously elegant details which was lovely. We took lots of beautiful shots and got to know the important people too which makes so much difference to our day.

We then headed off the 30 or so minutes to Beaulieu and once parked at the Montague Arms we had a quick lunch and then walked over to the Abbey to meet Andrew and the lads for some fun shots with the boys. Cheryl has a “thing” about horse droppings so there was a “special wedding shovel” to hand to clear the path and this did make a fun journey a little later. After shots with the boys and the arriving guests we waited for Cheryl to arrive in a beautiful Rolls Royce and then we were whisked into church for an absolutely amazing ceremony, it always in at the Abbey because its such an awesome building especially  bearing in mind it was never built as an Abbey or Church.

Afterwards we all spilled out into the gourds where Pimms and drinks were served, we have done this a few times at the church and it makes for a lovely occasion and really brings the church into the photos. We also did the family photos at the church which again was perfect and meant the next part of the wedding day would be more relaxed for the guests.

We then walked to the Montague Arms led by Cheryl and Andrews Son’s Alistair and Samuel whoo were on “shovel duty” and took it very seriously there was poo flying everywhere haha.

Back at the Montague arms we had a couple of fun hours photographing the guests enjoying themselves and the beautiful weather, a couple more groups and the couple photos before we headed into room details and then the most amazing wedding breakfast. Sue and I often get invited to join our couples and depending on when it is we sometimes do and today worked out just perfect because I had no race the next day 🙂 I am so pleased coz we had a lovely mean and an awesome table too.

Speeches. WOW fob and groom were both good, short and sweet and just as needed but then Alistair and Samuel who were also the best men came in to action. Alistair for the speech and Samuel for the toast. I am not kidding or exaggerating when I sat thus was close to being my favourite best man speed EVER, absolutely amazing and not a dry eye…..

Afterwards back out into the fading sunshine whilst the band setup and then into the cake cut and first dance which despite the tight room was a beautiful choreographed number that everyone enjoyed. Strictly come dancing voting and applause finished the dance which is pretty much when we said our goodbyes.

Absolutely TOP day guys we loved it. X

Laura and Dan get married

On Saturday we joined Laura and Dan for their wedding at Audleys Wood near basingstoke on yet another beautiful July Saturday so we spent most of the day enjoying the beautiful Audleys wood gardens and grounds.  We started our day with Laura and the girls in one of the suites for some lovely peroration shots and lots of beautiful details. This is always a great way for us to start our wedding days because we get to know the bridesmaids and often Mum too so it helps with our relaxed approach so much.

After wards we headed off for a few shots with Dan and the boys, A few of the lads were held up in traffic so we just concentrated on Dan and the Best Man and did the rest afterwards.

The ceremony was just lovely, I love the ceremony room at Audleys Wood because it has space and light and is very comfortable. A reading or 2 later and we were all ushered out into the sunshine. Almost straight away we headed to the shade because it was honestly unbearable for those dressed up but it was just perfect. A few mingling shots, the family groups and some portraits of the couple all done in perfect time thanks to awesome people.

We then headed inside to the Air Conditioned (thankfully) reception room for dinner followed by speeches.  Afterwards we setup our funtime fotos and spent an hour having sone fun before the evening started with cake cutting and first dance.

All in all a pretty perfect wedding. 10/10 on all counts, maybe a little to hot but hey it will be raining next week so we really cant complain about that can we haha.

O and Dan’s lovely Mum absolutely loved cyclists so we got on like a house on fire 😀

Thanks guys for a lovely wedding day X

David, Caroline and Jet the dog

On Thursday we joined Caroline and Dave for their wedding at the Tithe Barn near Petersfield and we were also joined by their beautiful black German shepherd Jet.  We started our day unusually at the ceremony because Caroline did not want any preparation photos, so we rocked up about 30 minutes early to have a spot of lunch and say hi to the staff before Dave the groom arrived.

Dave, Jet and the boys arrived around 2pm and we started with a few shots as normal but also did a few fun shots with Jet and the boys which worked out well. We then spent a little while photographing all the beautiful details whilst we waited for Caroline to arrive. Once she did we did a few shots by the car and walking into the barn in the gorgeous sunshine.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and quite nice with Jet being there too. The Tithe Barn does make for beautiful photographs both inside and out and as a ceremony room its just beautiful and quite majestic too not unlike a lot out our churches.

Outside onto the lawns we all enjoyed the sunshine as well as a little shade under the beautiful mature line of trees, We took a few groups shots and lots of the guests enjoying the day both drinking champagne and playing football with Jet 🙂 it really was a whole lot of fun. We also took Caroline and David off for some lovely relaxed portraits around the lake and grounds before back to the guests for the everybody shot which was just perfectly timed to go back into the wedding breakfast.

The wedding breakfast was just lovely and lots of laughter then into the speeches which were short and sweet and very enjoyable to photograph. Afterwards coffee and drinks again out into the sunshine whilst some of the guests enjoyed the Photo Booth and sweet cart up in the gallery.

We then photographed the cake cutting and then into the first dance which as always was beautiful in the barn. Afterwards the ceilidh band started playing and after a few photos Sue and I headed off home.

Such a beautiful day and wonderful people.

Guy and Anna get married

Saturdays wedding was with Guy and Anna at a beautiful church in Wilton near Salisbury and then for the reception at the gorgeous Barford Park which is the most amazing barn set in rural farmland.  We started our day with Anna at home which was only a couple of minutes from the Church for a few preps and details and then off to the church. We stopped by the Bear pub to grab a few shots of the boys, we would not normally do this on our short day package but honestly everything was within a few hundred feet of the church and so easy.

Once at the church we were greeted by a very friendly vicar and shown to the balcony which was the perfect location for photos, it was much like Beaulieu Abbey inside so photography wise it was just perfect. The ceremony was lovely and afterwards we all spilled out into the courtyard for confetti and photos. Again it was absolutely gorgeous with proper July weather 🙂

We then followed the beautiful vintage Rolls Royce the 14 or so miles to Barford Park where again we were blessed with beautiful sunshine. We spent 90 minutes photographing the guests and Guy and Anna as well as the beautiful details and a few family formals.

We finished our “short day option” with some lovely photos of Anna and Guy around the barn and surrounding fields.

As they went into Dinner Sue and I were finished and we headed home, Another amazing wedding day thanks guys.

Ben and Kim’s wedding day

On Thursday we joined Kim and Ben for their wedding which was at Skylark Golf club in Whitley near Fareham on what felt like the hottest day of the year with constant sunshine just as it should be in July.

We started our day with Kim and the girls well kim and the bridesmaids because one of them Jake was actually a male bridesmaid and my absolute favourite person he was just brilliant 🙂  We arrived early as requested but Kim was a tad over whelmed with everything so Sue and I had a coffee in the bar before eventually heading up to the room for some details and preps which were just lovely.  We were due to leave the Solent hotel for Skylark at 12:15 but our parting shot was Kim and Dad walking down the stairs and this actually happened at 1:05 so 5 minutes after the wedding ceremony time 🙂 as always if Kim was happy then we were happy, well sort of haha it was a tad fraught!  We headed off to Skylark where I had already called the Best Man to warn him of the delays.

Soon after Kim and the Bridesmaids arrived. Kim looking absolutely sensational in her beautiful dress and after a few photos we were ushered into the the ceremony in this absolutely amazing barn. Afterwards we all spilled out of the barn for photos on the new lawns which are getting better as the weeks go by. After the formals we all headed over to the lake for an everybody shot and then inside for drinks at which time we headed off with the couple in the golf carts for there couple shots which were lovely, Then back to the reception for a few details shots before everyone headed into dinner.  We did our lovely couples shots around the tables, this is something we love to do but its only works if there is room around the tables, yesterday was perfect 🙂

After the dinner was speeches which were fun and afterwards there was a couple hours until the first dance where people mostly dispersed and chilled out ready for the evening guests. Normally at skylark we would setup our photo booth at this time but Kim and Ben had arranged a booth with another company and it did not start until 8:30pm which I personally feel “missed the boat” but hey ho.

The dancing started at 8pm and was fun and Sue and I headed home, happy with another amazing wedding on probably the best day of the year so far.

Skylark golf and country club is a nice venue, it could be an AWESOME wedding venue if only they sorted a few tiny (in my opinion) issues out. But first and foremost its a golf club and I do understand that.  It has so much going for it, location is awesome, food is crazy good, Staff are just brilliant and friendly.
