On Sunday we took our client Jo to Marwell for our “getting to know your camera” workshop and the results were nothing short of breathtaking. Thus was Jo’s second workshop with us you can see her first here. She originally wanted to learn how to take studio photos which she did very well on her day with us but before leaving she booked this day.
We started our day in the studio chatting about settings and generally catching up with what we would be aiming for today and that was learning to shoot through cages and glass, creating beautiful photographs in natural settings. We set off for Marwell and as always headed for the Owls simply because they offer a little of everything and can be quite tricky to get right.
After 5 minutes with the Owl’s we headed to the Snow Leopard’s and the magic started, Jo was super patient and her patience paid off because her photos were beautiful and well worth the wait. We then worked on improving her creativity, it was clear after 2 workshops she was able to take a great photo so this was an obvious next step. Jo is an Art teacher so it was an easy step too. We spoke and worked with focus points which helped our framing and there fore creativeness and we had a great couple of hours.
My favourite part of the day was the leopards (not snow) and the Red Panda who we spent a while with, J had a 500mm lens so just perfect for the tree shots.
I am so pleased with Jo’s work today as she is. Jo has a great eye and a superb knack for finding the right spot and I am sure she is well on the road to making a great photographer.
We hope that you enjoy these photographs from this workshop, we are very pleased with them and we feel they show off using your cameras AV and S mode very well and also the various focus and metering modes all of which are interesting to learn about and will take your photography to a new level.
