Steve and Alex get married at Romsey Abbey

On Friday we joined Steve and Alex for our last wedding of 2016 and it was just the perfect wedding to round off our year. We met Alex when we photographed her Sisters wedding back in 2008. Stuart and Sophie got married locally too, and again it was a lovely wedding.

On Friday we started our day at Alex’s parent’s house in Wellow for a few preps and details before shooting off to Romsey to meet the boys in a pub. After a few pub shots, we walked to the beautiful Romsey Abbey where we took a few formals of the boys and waited for Alex to arrive.

It was a beautiful, very chilly and very foggy day and the car looked beautiful pulling into the Abbey grounds. After a couple of brisk photos (it was super cold) we headed into the Abbey for what turned out to be an absolutely beautiful ceremony. Steve and Alex live in Australia so the whole service was recorded and streamed live to those folks back home unable to travel. Alex looked sensational in the wedding dress she designed. After the ceremony we stayed inside for family photos, it really was super chilly outside and that’s for us Brits, God only knows how the Australian’s felt, but I do know they put on a great face, well-done guys.

We then headed back to our reception venue which was the White Horse Hotel in Romsey centre which is an absolutely amazing hidden gem, in fact, Sue and I visit it often. The reception was great and after a few relaxed photos we headed into dinner and then 5 superb speeches. Afterwards, we headed into Romsey for some shots by the Christmas tree and then eventually back for dancing which finished off an amazing wedding and year for us.

Thanks guys for looking after us. You were AWESOME X

Happy New Year, Jules and Sue

Lucy and Ian get married Lake district wedding

Last weekend was our second location wedding in October and this time we were off to the beautiful Lake Windermere for the wedding of Ian and Lucy. As a remarkable coincidence, just like the last wedding Ian is also a wedding photographer too.

I should start by saying that Sue and I had the most amazing weekend with Ian and Lucy, we love you guys and spending time getting to know you better too.

We have been excited about this wedding ever since Ian called to book, Ian took a few of our photo workshops a few years back so we knew we would all get on great.

We left home Friday morning for what turned out to be a gruelling 8 hour trip to the Lakes, But a few ciders later and a good nights sleep we were ready to go enjoy the wedding day. We drove to the beautiful Cragwood Country House Hotel which was simply breathtaking and was greeted by Ian, shown around then had a coffee. Sue and I then started grabbing a few details whilst getting to know people at the wedding.

We spent a couple of hours with Lucy and the girl’s for the preparation shots and details as well as Ian who was nervously walking the hotel grounds trying to keep busy, I’m pretty sure we should have given him a fishing rod for a few hours, that would have worked.

The ceremony was beautiful and a little humour which always helps and then afterwards we spilt outside onto the patio for a few photos. The weather was warm and misty but thankfully the rain had stopped. Down to the lake for some photos and a few more around the grounds then into the wedding breakfast. The food, just like the service was outstanding and enjoyed by all. A very relaxed wedding breakfast followed by 3 speeches and coffee.

Later we enjoyed dancing, photo booth and cake, lots and lots of cake 🙂

This was a superb wedding with totally awesome people and we loved every minute of it. There is something pretty special about getting to know our couples and we are very lucky having the time to do just that. We both love our wedding and would not change a thing.

Top wedding Lucy and Ian. We Loved it X
