Simon, Jada and a very cool Ferrari

On Thursday we did the first of our May weddings and what a perfect one to start on, We joined Simon and Jada for their wedding day at Northbrook Park which is nestled on the Hampshire and Surrey borders up near Farnham.  Simon and Jada chose an amazing day to get married we had sunshine pretty much all day and it was a joy to be outside and warm.  We started our day with Jada and the girls in one of the mews and as soon as we arrived we knew we were in for a fun day, the champagne was already flowing and the girls were loving the buzz,  We took lots of details and then walked over to meet the boys who had arrived in a very swanky Ferrari and looked very sharp,  amongst them was our good friend Dave Gaunt who’s wedding we shot many years ago and thanks Dave for recommending us to Simon and Jada.

After a few shots of the boys and the rooms we headed back to Jada for the final few bits before we headed into the filled ceremony room ad after a tense 5 minute wait Jada walked in looking a million dollars and Simon was simply stunned at the bride before him,  we then had a beautiful ceremony and was then led out into the courtyard and through into the spectacular gardens at Northbrook Park for a couple of hours sipping champagne and enjoying canapés in the sunshine whilst Sue and I captured some beautiful relaxed photos of everyone, we also took some fun family photos in the walled gardens and took Simon and Jada off for some creative fun portraits before being whisked back into dinner which was scrummy thanks guys.

As we sat down for the wedding breakfast the bridesmaid stood up and played a fun Mr & Mrs Game which got the whole room laughing and then mum gave an emotional speech before the breakfast was served, afterwards we had the 3 main speeches which if you knew Simon and Jada were just as you would expect Fun Fun Fun.

After Dinner we took Simon and Jada outside again because the light was amazing and we took some beautiful twilight portraits and I am so pleased that we did they turned out amazing, then back to the room for dancing and that saw the end for Sue and I.

What a fantastic way to start our May weddings:-) Sue and I do a lot of weddings at Northbrook Park so if you are getting married there please give us a call and we can chat.

Thanks guys for looking after us and Dave for making me smile the whole day.

Northbrook Park wedding photographer – Ben and Danielle get married

We woke up early on Saturday morning to the sound of the birds singing and when I looked out of the window I could see what a beautiful day it was, amazing after such a dreadful week! Well Sue ad I have been waiting for this wedding for many years and I am very pleased to say that it did not disappoint!  Sue and I have known Danielle for about 8 years and photographed her many times, We have known Ben even longer since he was at primary school so as you can imagine we were delighted when they announced their engagement a couple of years ago and of course asked us to join them at their wedding,  I must confess I would have been more than a little upset if they hadn’t:-).  We were also delighted to advise on a wedding venue and very pleased when they chose our favorite Hampshire wedding venue Northbrook Park which in fact is on the Hampshire surrey border so could be a Surrey wedding venue too.  Sue and I have photographed lots of lovely Northbrook park weddings and here are a few on our wedding venue website. Ben and Danielle also took our advice on Caterers and chose the amazing  RedHerring for there wedding day, needless to say the food was absolutely top drawer.

We started our day with Danielle at Northbrook park in one of the cottages for some lovely relaxed preparation shots starting with makeup by one of our regular and amazing make up artists Kirsty McCall, you can check out her work here! its amazing, we then met with Ben in another cottage, we flitted between the 2 for a couple of hours grabbing some fun photos along the way as well as a few guests arriving and milling around, it was great to catch up with so many friends as they arrived. Soon the time had come to move across to the beautiful ceremony room for the amazing wedding ceremony and as Danielle walked in looking sensational there was a gasp of excitement in the crowded room, after a beautiful, tearful and very memorable ceremony we moved into the gardens for drinkies and canapés and lots of relaxed photos,

We also had amongst other things a lovely vintage Ice-cream van called Bluebelle supplied by our good friends at Kiss My Cake and it was amazing, fun and very very tasty, the ice-cream not the van!  We then took Ben and Danielle off for a walk and some portraits, mostly very relaxed like these here because Ben in not a big fan of posed photos and Northbrook works so well with the reportage style weddings, After a couple of hours we headed into the Orangery for speeches and we had 5 very different speeches, first the chief Bridesmaid (the lovely Ellie)  did her speech and a fun Mr & Mrs game which I guess was the warm up J then Danielle’s dad gave a heartwarming speech followed by Bens lovely words and then the 2 best men, the first fun and uplifting and the second very emotive, both just perfectly complimented the day and each other, lastly Danielle got up to talk, no surprise there then J.

We then sat down to an amazing dinner from RedHerring and I must say they excelled themselves again, top nosh! after dinner we all wandered into the marquee for a cocktail hour so Sue and I setup our amazing Funtime Foto’s which is our wedding photo booth and it was so much fun, we normally do this after the first dance but the natural gap worked so well,  we were soon joined by the Chocolate Troll (in-joke) which was a lovely chocolate fountain, with that, the cocktail bar and a sweet trolley and Funtime Foto’s the marquee was a great place to hang out J

We then photographed the first dance  and then back to our photo booth for a couple of hours of Funtime fotos which was amazing and we have some cracking photos too, we have been offering Funtime photos for the past year and its proved to be very popular with all sorts of weddings, Its a lot more fun than a traditional booth because we actually entertain whilst we are taking the photos and we have a proper fun time doing so:-)

After the funtime fotos and a couple of dances, bouquet and garter tossing and lots of chocolate and sweets  Sue and I headed home, exhausted but very happy, It was as expected an amazing day and an awful lot of fun, I can’t thank you all enough for making me laugh and smile, and yes the odd tear too,  Danielle I knew you would look amazing but even I was blown away, Sue and I cannot thank you and Ben enough for looking after us during your amazing wedding.

Wow what a day, we will be talking about this for years!!!

As a side note I would like to pay a special thank you to the 4 bridesmaids Vikki, Vikki, and “cheify” Ellie and Sara you were all amazing just like bridesmaids should be but rarely are;-) pats on the back all round xxxx

Although we finished on our funtime photos I will post them as a separate blog tomorrow at the launch of the new funtime website !

Weddings of 2011 with Jules and Sue

Its come to that time of year when we reflect on our years weddings and look forward to another amazing year of weddings in 2012,  this year we photographed 31 weddings which was 1 over our target of 30,  in previous years we have had a target of 40 but this year we decided to cut it down to 30 weddings to give us a little more time together with the family which is so important, we only went over by 1 to accommodate one of our lovely bridesmaids from a previous wedding.

We love our weddings and hope that shown in our photos, we would love you to leave us a message at the end of this blog post to let us know your favourite photo, I am sure the couples will appreciate that as will Sue and I, during 2012 we will be running a monthly ‘COMMENT CONTEST” and the best comment every month will receive a prize so get commenting folks:-)

These photos are in no particular order, This first couple are the lovely Joe and Abbie who got married at Minley Manor on an amazing day, we had a lot of fun and have really enjoyed getting to know them, as with all our Military weddings it was a great day, highlighted by the most amazing firework display in the evening and the fact that it was our longest wedding ever.

This next photo was taken at Lainston House in Winchester which is very local to us, Adam and Mandy got married on our wedding anniversary 3rd September and as a treat they gave us dinner in a very romantic room:-)unfortunatly we had the grumpy bloody videographer there too hahaha.  We had a great day with lots of sunshine tho and it was a fab way to celebrate our anniversary.

This wedding with Jeremy and Sarah was at the amazing Elvetham in Hartley Whitney,  it was a last minute booking for us but none the less amazing, great location with real fun people and wonderful weather and lots and lots of champagne.

Caroline and Will got married on there own trout fishery in the Meon’s  we met them a few years earlier when they won a voucher and we took photos of them and there dog Basil, the wedding day was amazing as was the weather, great ride back to the fishery for all the bridesmaids in Will’s tractor, so much fun its hard to fit it all into a couple of lines.

This next couple are David and Sarah who got married at Sarah’s parents house in Milton Keynes, David is a pilot and they have moved to Dubai for his work, I am sure they are in for a wonderful life together and we would like to wish them the best for there very exciting future over there.

Our next couple is Major Simon and Ebba:-) These 2 live all over the world  and found us online, we got to know Ebba via email and built up a lovely friendship, it was like photographing an old friends wedding at the amazing Brompton Barracks in Kent again the day flowed like a dream.

This next lovely couple are Adrian and Sarah, they got married at Burcombe manor on what can only be described as a pink wedding day:-) Sarah loves pink and I must say it was done very well indeed, another amazing couple, we stopped in a field on route to get this photo that Sue took before heading off to Burcombe, we had lots of rain but that never stopped the fun.

Tom and Laura:-) wow what a day, they got married in Salisbury and there reception was at our local and very popular Rhinefield House in the new forest which was a bit of a trek but well worth it,  we had a wonderful day and so much fun with these 2 and there families.

This next wedding was at Northbrook Park in Farnham which again has become very popular with us, Andy and Issy’s wedding was a lovely day, filled with amazing details and great people, our great friend Chef Gary cooked there wedding food and you all know how I feel about his cooking.

Jan and Angela got married at the beautiful Parley Manor on a lovely wednesday, such a lovely day and a fun couple who really knew what they wanted, lots of amazing details and the amazing singing waiters too. We just delivered there album in fact last week and it was our largest yet 50 amazing pages:-)

Jodie and Alex were married in Gaynes park in Essex, if you look at there blog post here I think you will agree that its the most amazing wedidng venue.

Patrick and Laura were married at the Barn at Bentley which is a lovely venue, great couple and wonderful guests made this a very memorable wedding for us, we always enjoy barn weddings and they dont come much better than this one.

Helen and Keith were married at Audleys Wood in basingstoke on a chilly but sunny day in November, beautiful wedding and couple, Keith is a submariner so we had a lot of fun including a sword fight:-)now you don’t get one of those at every wedding.  use the search button below to find there blog post.

This next wedding was actually our last of 2011 with peter and Anabell and it was at the Clock Barn which again is a barn venue,  Lovely people made this day, I am not a huge fan of the staff at the Clock barn but that does not stop us getting amazing breathtaking photos, its all about the couple and there guests.

Richard and Adele were married at the Bartley lodge hotel in the new forest and had the most amazing wedding, we really enjoyed getting to know these 2 and I think it shows in there photos,  Such a lovely close family and I am very pleased to say that we keep in touch often through Facebook as we do with lots of our couples.

Ben and Jo were married at the delighful Careys Manor which is another favourite new forest venue for us,  We took Matt, another photographer along with us who also got some great images, we occasionally do this if we have larger weddings or in this case time restraints,  another lovely wedding and worth seaching here for.

Ben and Perry were married at there local church in Landford and then the reception back at Bens parents house which is a stud at landlord, amazing weather and day with lots of great music.

Medhi and Carol got married at al Elmers Court in the new forest,  the day will forever stick in my mind, Medhi was from France and Carol from Zimbadwe so we had lots of language issues to deal with but a whole lot of fun as well.

Simon and Alia had a wonderful wedding up at Northbrook Park in Farnham and it was an amazing day filled with all sorts,  we had 3 ceremonies lots of music and dancing and a whole lot of amazing people, such a great day finishing with a traditional Jewish chair dance, so much fun.

Stuart and Sarah’s day was a wonderful day, set at Rhinefield House in the new forest and it was a lovely day, we had the most amazing time with some great portraits and a whole lot of fun.

Dan and Laura will always hold a special place in my Heart,  we knew Laura before she met Dan so we were so excited when they announced there engagement, of course we were so happy to shoot there wedding which tok place at the ford social club.

This next wedding was another Careys Manor wedding, David and Claire are from Dubai  so all arrangements were made via email and although it was a shorter wedding for us we had a great day and it turned out to be a highlight wedding for us, such an amazing couple with so much love to share.

This next wedding was at the Di Vin in Winchester with Kevin and Ellen back in February, it was a great day with lots of our clients there including Matt and KJ from 2006 so it was like a bog family wedding for us.  lots of fun and some amazing donuts !  need I say more:-)

James and Kelly were married at Richmond Park in London in Pembrooke lodge and it was a wonderful day, we had a surprise when Peter Crouch walked by so with James being such a footie fan I asked Peter if he would mind a photo, of course he was happy to, in fact it was the day that Peter announced his engagement, perfect timing or what !

Clint and Charlotte  live in Australia but we met them a few years ago when Charlotte was a bridesmaid at another wedding,  we kept in touch via Facebook and email and when they decided to get married we were there:-) they got married at East Horton  golf club which Charlottes family own, another great wedding.

Peter and Karen live in Canada and got married at Cain Manor in Surrey on the most amazing Autumnal day, it was very cold but the light was amazing as you can see with Sue’s shot below.  another fun filled cain manor wedding.

Kim and Stewart were married at Pitt hall Barn,  an odd venue actually on a working farm and in my opinion better suited to a much smaller wedding but none the less it was a nice day, the ceremony took place in a church in Whitchurch and then its a fair drive to pitt barn but a lovely couple and great wedding guests.

Rich and Nikki got married at the lovely Tythe Barn in Petersfied,  it was a great wedding, lots of fun and unexpected sunshine:-) Sue and I had worked with Nikki who was a model lots of times so this truly was a very special day for us.

Steve and Natalie got married at Rivervale Barn in Yately which is a sensational barn and a lovely place to get married, it makes for a perfect reception venue too, lovely grounds and amazing views. This was a great wedding for us with lots of friends and one that we will never forget.

Andy and Katy found us online for their Avington Park wedding, it was a lovely day filled with sunshine and amazing weather, we had lots of fun first at St Peters church in Winchester and then Avington.

Peter and Anna met us at 2 friends weddings over the past few years so it was a sure bet that we would join then at theirs:-) we had the most amazing day at the church and then Gatestreet Barn where the sun shone continually.  Lovely people and great day.

Andy and Issy get married at Northbrook Park

For the first of this weekends 2 weddings we joined Andy and Issy at Northbrook park in Farnham in Surrey on what turned out to be an amazing day,  Sure enough on the trip up as forcast we had a few spots of rain but thankfully it moved across to give us a near perfect day.  We started our day with Issy who was staying at one of the Northbrok “mews” cottages for some lovely relaxed prepersation shots and hair and makeup by our good friend and boudoir MUA Gemma,  We spent an hour or so with Issy and then wandered off to Meet Andy and his brother and Bestman Chris whom we had photographed before as a gift for Mum and Dad so it was all very relaxed and a lot of fun,  We also bumped into 2 of our couples,  Carl and Lucy who’s wedding we shot in January 2010 and they are expecting a baby, Congratulations guys:-) and Karen and Gary who’s wedding we shot way back in 2007 , You all know Gary as Chef Gary of course, and yes Chef Gary was also the chef for Andy and Issy’s wedding and OMG the food was amazing but I will save that for another post or maybe tag it on the end of this one, anyway back to the wedding,  All in all with so many clients, friends and colleauges at this wedding it truly was like home from home.

After a while with Andy and the boys we headed back to Issy and photographed the beautiful dress and I watched her drive off in the Northbrook Merc,  We then headed into a lovely romantic ceremony with a full display from the peacocks and then later into the walled gardens for some drinks and munchies from Chef Gary, we took a few family groups and then went for a wander with Andy and Issy for some amazing portraits around the lake and gounds of Northbrook park, we had the perfect mix of blue skies and sunshine albeit with the threat of rain,   We then wandered back to do a frisbie shot ( Andy and Issy play Ultimate Frisbie ) and then into the wedding breakfast, The food was just as expected amazing and after what seemed like hours eating we had some fun speeches, we then wandered back out for a while whilst we waited for the band to setup for the first dance.

Sue and I had the most amazing day with Andy and Issy and would like to thank the parents for looking after us, Chris, Simon and  Jamie for the most organised group shots ever, Chef Gary for, well for being Chef Gary:-) Carl, Lucy, Karen and Cheffy for reccomending us, Andy and Issy for never saying no and being sooo much fun,  and of course all 110 guests for being so much fun and for making our job so easy.

Northbrook park is a lovely venue and given enough time can make for beautiful photographs, Sue andf I love it there and cant wait to go back later this year.

Enjoy your honeymoon guys

Jules and Sue x

Wedding photography @ Northbrook Park Hampshire with Jonathan and Sarah

On Thursday  we joined Jonathan and Sarah for our very first Northbrook Park wedding, Northbrook Park is an absolute stunning venue and the staff were very helpful and efficient, Our day was helped along by Louise who did an amazing job and was very helpful indeed.

We started our day with a few preparation shots with sarah and the girls whilst popping down to grab a few of the very nervous groom as and when we could, We were then led to the beautiful ceremony room by Toastmaster Geoffrey Cornwell, it was our first wedding with Geoff but I sincerely hope not our last, He was just the most helpful Toastie ever keeping the day flowing perfectly and continually with a happy face and chirpy smile,

After the ceremony we had a wonderful champagne reception in the beautiful gardens followed by a stroll around the lake and grounds to grab a few portraits, Northbrook Park is one of those places where every step opens up new photo opportunities.  We then headed into dinner which was fab and then onto some great speeches thanks especially to Jonathan’s brother Peter who gave a short but very emotional speech, Pete, you will be pleased to know I have not blogged any of them:-)

We then got into the dancing thanks to our friends and great DJ’s at firstdancedjs. who kept us all entertained  until Jonathan decided to stand up and sing Wonderwall to his new bride  which was quite emotional when the whole room erupted into the chorus.

We then went back out into the garden for some chinese lanterns.  All in all a great wedding.

Thanks guys
