Charlotte’s 16th birthday party

Last week Sue and I joined Charlotte for her 16th Birthday party at her home in Bitterne Southampton for her birthday party which we were photographing, Linda, Charlottes Mum had contacted us a few weeks ago saying that Charlotte loved photos and would like her 16th birthday party photographed and Sue and I were very happy to oblige,  We joined Charlotte and Linda and took a few lovely details whilst we waited for her friends and family arrived and then as people arrived we took some lovely relaxed photos both inside and out which is just what they had requested.

Charlotte had the most amazing evening and we were delighted to spend a couple of hours with her,  She is the most polite and friendly 16 year old you could ever wish for, such a lovely family.

here are a few of Charlotte’s favourites from the party.

Kai Widdrington selects Michelle Mutuleasa as his new dance partner

Last week we were asked to photograph Kai Widdrington who reached the final of Britain’s Got Talent last year and his new dance partner Michelle Mutuleasa for their upcoming press releases for their management company.

We had so much fun working with Kai and Michelle and look forward to working with them again soon, we love this type of photography because it allows us to get creative on a different level, Sue and I are extremely lucky that we have such a fab studio space and that it allows us to adapt to all sorts of photography including these amazing dance shots.

Kai Widdrington chose Michelle Mutuleasa the 15-year-old, who was born in Ireland to Romanian parents, who has moved her entire family to Eastleigh so that she and Kai can spend every spare minute rehearsing for competitions and shows.  Michelle, who has been dancing since she was three, said: “I had seen Kai on Britain’s Got Talent so I knew who he was. and I must say they are fab together.

Their training is now in full swing for the UK Championships in June and various other things in the pipeline, including a possible stage show.

Here are a few photos from the shoot,  please get in touch with us if you would like any sort of shoot at our very affordable prices.

Nick and Laura May the fourth be with you !

On Star wars day we joined Nick and Laura for their wonderful wedding at the Grand Harbour hotel in Southampton and had the most amazing time. The whole day was filled with lots of laughter, love and amazing dedication to detail which we just LOVED.

We started our day with Laura and 2 of the craziest bridesmaids Helen and Carrie at the Grand Harbour for lots of details and prep shots,  not only did we have the usual shots but we also had Laura’s amazing bouquet that she made herself along with the rest of the details, she is so creative its amazing, there seems to be no end to her creative talents as you will see.  After an hour or so we walked through southampton to the Duke of Wellington pub to meet up with Nick and the lads and our Ring bearer “super hero” Owen who was so much fun through out the whole day.  We took a few fun shots then headed back to Laura who was ready to walk to Southampton Registry office, unfortunately it was super windy but that never put Laura off and we had a lovely walk to the registry,  after a short delay we headed inside and had a lovely service followed by a few photos outside before we headed to the Old Southampton walls for our family photos. Soon it was time to head back to the Grand Harbour for bubbles and then into the wedding breakfast.

After the meal we had the speeches which were a lot of fun and included one from the 2 bridesmaids we mentioned earlier, we then cut the cake then whisked Nick and Laura back outside for some lovely evening portraits and thankfully the wind had died down.  Back inside we soon settled into the first dance at which point we said our good-bye’s.

It was a lovely wedding with a few discreet Star war references including a fancy cake topper and some real cheesy speech references thanks Mark:-) with a fantastic couple and their lovely son Owen.

Thanks everyone for making it a fun day

Jules x

Watch me grow shoots by Hampshire photographer Julian porter

Last week we had a wonderful watch me grow shoot with Allie, David, Jonathan and baby Matthew and it was superb. We have already photographed Matthew as an 8 day old newborn which you can see here and they are adorable.  We also did a watch me grow package for Jonathan a few years ago as well as photographing David and Allie’s wedding so we know them all very well, without a doubt this is the best part of our job, watching our families grow:-)

We offer a selection of watch me grow packages as you will see from the links below and like with Allie and David we always take a lovely selection of cherished photos of the whole family.  Both Matthew and Jonathan had only just gotten over chicken pox on our shoot so apart from some careful editing we also had to cope with the gorgeous Matthew not being as smiley as normal but I am sure you will agree that these are adorable photos.

If you would like a watch me grow shoot or any other shoot please let me know and we can get it all sorted. These shoots are an amazing way of capturing your babies first year and you will end up with an amazing collection of stunning photos.

Thank you again Allie, David, Jonathan and Matthew for making me smile so much and for the LOVELY cookies:-)

Jules x
