beautifully detailed wedding at Burley Manor Hotel

On Thursday we joined Paul and Laura for their wedding at the newly refurbished Burley Manor Hotel in Burley (obviously haha) in the New Forest. I know this area very well because its on one of my cycling routes so was quite excited about our first wedding there and more so once we met Laura and Paul because they certainly had an amazing eye for detail and much like the sunshine it shone on the wedding day.

We started our day with Laura at Burley Manor Hotel ion the bridal suite for some lovely preparations and details. We spent an hour or so working alongside our friend and Videographer Neil capturing the morning as it unfolded which is always a great way to start our wedding days.

We then joined Paul in the bar along with a few early guests and eventually the best man for some pre wedding lads photos around the beautiful grounds which included today a herd of deer in the field next door which was the perfect backdrop.

We were then whisked into the ceremony (literally whisked, the manager had a bug in his arse and wanted to rush rush rush Laura which was a great shame) but I managed to slow things down a little for her and grab the important photos that she had dreamed of which IMO are much more important than getting married “5 minutes early” as it happens the registrars were late talking to Laura so all good haha.

After the brief but beautiful service we headed outside onto the patio’s where we pretty much did all the photos. I would have preferred the grass but we had horrendous rain all day Wednesday so the grass was very soggy and the patio was safe ūüôā

After family groups and a few relaxed photos we did some nice portraits and headed into a beautiful barn for the wedding breakfast room filled with the most amazing details including just about the best seating plan I have ever seen, awesome. The meal was absolutely gorgeous and the guests very happy so the speeches were next and a real fun thing to photograph.

After the speeches there was some downtime before we headed back to the barn for the cake cutting and evening dancing with the most amazing band who I will post details of later.

All in all the most perfect wedding day in glorious sunshine.

Jules

Matt and Maddie get married

On Thursday we joined Maddie and Matt for their wedding at the beautiful Rhinefield house on what was the best day of the year so far with a warm breeze and glorious sunshine too.  We started our day at home with Maddie in Hedge End for an hours preparation which included getting to know her 2 gorgeous daughters and off course the bridesmaids. We took the usual makeup, dress and details and a few general photos before heading off to Rhinefield to meet with the boys.

The drive was just perfect, being a Thursday meant quiet roads so we arrived and said our hello’s to the staff before waiting for Matt. True to form Maddie arrived first haha and had to circle the grounds in the Limo whilst Matt parked and was ushered in. After a few photos in the car we all headed into the Keepers Lodge to the ceremony.

Honestly hand on heart the ceremony was the funniest one I have ever seen, but funny in a good way, Matt was just cracking everyone up with his humour and it made for a perfect Thursday wedding. Soon after we were whisked out onto the lawns in the beautiful sunshine and enjoyed a couple hours of photographs whilst the guests enjoyed Canapés and Champagne.

We then headed back into the grand hall for the wedding breakfast and afterwards speeches before heading back out for a little while whilst we waited for the first dance. The dance was lovely and for us a perfect end to an absolutely perfect early summer wedding.

Thanks guys it was absolutely amazing.

Jules and Sue x

Sam and Rosie our last 2015 wedding

On Saturday 19th we joined Sam and Rosie for their wedding at Audleys wood in Basingstoke which was our last wedding for the year and what a wedding we chose to finish on. ¬†We started our day with Rosie all the way up in Shepparton in Surrey at her family home for the preps and although it was a long way it was well worth it because Rosie was so comfortable at home and we got some beautiful details including those shoes…… They were to die for and the dress too. ¬†We also got to meet all the lovely bridesmaids and Dad, we had already met Mum so all good. We also met Martin the video guy and after an hour shooting we headed back down the M25/M3 to Audleys which thankfully was a lot quieter than it was on Thursday after our Germany trip.

We arrived at Audleys wood wedding venue and found the boys and got some fun shots with them including trying out the scrummy 35 year old Scotch that Dad had saved for the wedding, them trying it not us haha. We then mingled with the guests and waited for our beautiful bride Rosie to arrive and when she did it was in a stretch Limo with all her girls which bearing in mind the distance made sense. A quick chat with the registrars and we were ready to get married.  Sue and I took our places and soon Rosie was walking down the isle to her man. The ceremony was nice and quite festive thanks to the tree and I got to play a little with the Baubles for extra festive fun and once over they had the rings blessed by a family friend which added a little to the festivities too.

Afterwards we all spilled out into the reception area which to be honest was more than a little tight. although it was dry and quite warm outside people were happier inside by the log fire, and to be fair who can blame them, We went outside for the family shots as well as couple shots which was nice. Rosie and Sam were great to be with and we had a lot of fun with these.

We then headed into the wedding breakfast and started with speeches which were proper funny, this was a good crowd and a lot of laughs from everyone. After the speeches Sue and I headed off to get some munch and the back ready for the first dance. We captured some fun around the tables and the cake cutting and then straight into the wonderful dance with the best live band I think i have ever worked with which for us topped off a fantastic wedding day.

Thanks Sam and Rosie for a lovely day.

Tim and Phillippa and Beatrice have their day

On Saturday we joined Tim and Phillippa for their wedding day and the Christening of their daughter Beatrice at the Bell Inn at Bradshaw and the beautiful Hyde Church in Fordinbridge.

We started our day with¬†Phillippa at her parents house with an hours preparation photos with lots of details including¬†Phillippa’s beautiful gold Jimmy Choo shoes and her beautiful engagement ring, Phillippa love the details that we photograph at Julian Porter Photography¬†¬†and we love our details especially those Jimmy Choo’s.

We then headed off to the Church to meet Tim. The weather was absolutely shocking with continual blustery rain and wind but inside the church was wonderful so we were very happy. ¬†Tim arrived just in the nik of time so we managed to grab a couple of very quick shots before¬†Phillippa arrived looking splendid in a beautiful silver Rolls Royce. ¬†After a few minutes sorting out¬†Beatrice in the shocking rain we all headed into the sanctuary of the church ūüôā ¬†and after a few moments¬†Phillippa was walking down the isle to marry her Tim.

After a beautiful wedding ceremony and a rather enthusiastic church verger (to be honest rather this than the other way ) we were back down to the font for the Baptism of Beatrice which again was a nice service and made the wedding service that little bit more memorable.

Afterwards we stayed in the church for a few family groups before all heading the few miles back to Bradshaw and the Bell Inn.  We had arranged with Tim and Phillippa to stop off on our way at a spot we found for a few photos and we had our white brollies ready but thankfully the weather was starting to clear and we got some beautiful photographs.

Back at the Bell Inn we took a few photos of the guests milling around although it was tight so we took a few more smaller groups outside on the patio before being called into dinner.

After dinner we had the speeches and cake cutting before we setup our FuntimeFotos for an hour which went down very well. Then back into the first dance followed by a few shots outside playing with sparklers.

Sue and I then headed home after another fab winter wedding ūüôā

Late summer sunshine with Nathan and Gina

On Saturday we joined Nathan and Gina for their wedding at the barn and Bury Court in Hampshire for the most glorious late summer day, I refuse to call it Autumn just yet ūüôā We started our day with gina and the girls at home¬†in Fleet for preparation shots and lot of lovely details for an hour. We then headed off to Bury Court dodging the closed roads at Farnborough because of the food show but thankfully made it in plenty of time to photograph Nathan and the boys and say hi to Alan the compare for the day who we know quite well.

A little while later Gina arrived in a beautiful old Jag and looked splendid in her lovely dress complimented by her bridesmaids in gorgeous blue dresses. A few brief shots with the girls before into the ceremony.

I know I often say this but honestly todays was the biggest AWWWW I have ever experienced, the whole room was awwing and aaaaing as Gina walked down the isle to her Nathan.  The ceremony was lovely and 2 beautiful readings especially the second one by the bridesmaid who had tears rolling down her face as she spoke beautiful words to Gina and Nathan, it was quite touching.

Afterwards we all headed out into the most amazing gardens for photos which were great, we only had a very brief time today so worked quite quickly here. One of the things I personally dislike the Barn at Bury Court is that after this initial hour or at best 90 minutes they close the gardens so if like today you have zero time to play with you cant go back into the gardens after dinner which is such a shame, Evening photographs even if it were just with the couple would be amazing.  It could be one of our premier venues if it were not like this and really is a huge shame and would be a deal breaker for me.

Into the wedding breakfast and then speeches, ¬†Dad’s and Nathan’s then the 2 best men, all quite fun and upbeat so a great time had by all.

We then went out the front to take a few more photos and then setup our photo booth for some fun shots which I am pleased to say was a huge success with the guests.

We then photographed the dance and drifted off home after what had been a superb day in the sun with absolutely lovely people.
