Steve and Alex get married at Romsey Abbey

On Friday we joined Steve and Alex for our last wedding of 2016 and it was just the perfect wedding to round off our year. We met Alex when we photographed her Sisters wedding back in 2008. Stuart and Sophie got married locally too, and again it was a lovely wedding.

On Friday we started our day at Alex’s parent’s house in Wellow for a few preps and details before shooting off to Romsey to meet the boys in a pub. After a few pub shots, we walked to the beautiful Romsey Abbey where we took a few formals of the boys and waited for Alex to arrive.

It was a beautiful, very chilly and very foggy day and the car looked beautiful pulling into the Abbey grounds. After a couple of brisk photos (it was super cold) we headed into the Abbey for what turned out to be an absolutely beautiful ceremony. Steve and Alex live in Australia so the whole service was recorded and streamed live to those folks back home unable to travel. Alex looked sensational in the wedding dress she designed. After the ceremony we stayed inside for family photos, it really was super chilly outside and that’s for us Brits, God only knows how the Australian’s felt, but I do know they put on a great face, well-done guys.

We then headed back to our reception venue which was the White Horse Hotel in Romsey centre which is an absolutely amazing hidden gem, in fact, Sue and I visit it often. The reception was great and after a few relaxed photos we headed into dinner and then 5 superb speeches. Afterwards, we headed into Romsey for some shots by the Christmas tree and then eventually back for dancing which finished off an amazing wedding and year for us.

Thanks guys for looking after us. You were AWESOME X

Happy New Year, Jules and Sue

Lucy and Ian get married Lake district wedding

Last weekend was our second location wedding in October and this time we were off to the beautiful Lake Windermere for the wedding of Ian and Lucy. As a remarkable coincidence, just like the last wedding Ian is also a wedding photographer too.

I should start by saying that Sue and I had the most amazing weekend with Ian and Lucy, we love you guys and spending time getting to know you better too.

We have been excited about this wedding ever since Ian called to book, Ian took a few of our photo workshops a few years back so we knew we would all get on great.

We left home Friday morning for what turned out to be a gruelling 8 hour trip to the Lakes, But a few ciders later and a good nights sleep we were ready to go enjoy the wedding day. We drove to the beautiful Cragwood Country House Hotel which was simply breathtaking and was greeted by Ian, shown around then had a coffee. Sue and I then started grabbing a few details whilst getting to know people at the wedding.

We spent a couple of hours with Lucy and the girl’s for the preparation shots and details as well as Ian who was nervously walking the hotel grounds trying to keep busy, I’m pretty sure we should have given him a fishing rod for a few hours, that would have worked.

The ceremony was beautiful and a little humour which always helps and then afterwards we spilt outside onto the patio for a few photos. The weather was warm and misty but thankfully the rain had stopped. Down to the lake for some photos and a few more around the grounds then into the wedding breakfast. The food, just like the service was outstanding and enjoyed by all. A very relaxed wedding breakfast followed by 3 speeches and coffee.

Later we enjoyed dancing, photo booth and cake, lots and lots of cake 🙂

This was a superb wedding with totally awesome people and we loved every minute of it. There is something pretty special about getting to know our couples and we are very lucky having the time to do just that. We both love our wedding and would not change a thing.

Top wedding Lucy and Ian. We Loved it X

Courage and Jadine get married

Firstly apologies for the delay in posting this but Sue and I have just had our “end of season” break and a few days away.  Last Saturday we joined Jadine and Courage for their lovely wedding in Stockbridge Hampshire so a nice local once for us.  We set off from home extra early despite the 15 mile journey because it was the Romsey Show weekend but sad;ly it was horrendous weather and the show was very quiet and we drove straight past without issue, a blessing for us but with a tinge of sadness for those planning to exhibit or visit the show.

We arrived at Stockbridge and parked by the church for coffee before heading to Janine’s house for preps. We had a lot of fun with the girls and checking out the marquee for a few photos. Despite the weather we knew today was going to be a lot of fun.

After a while, we headed off to the Church to do a few arrival shots and I just love the “guests with brollies” because they do not expect a photographer to be stood in the teaming rain taking photos. Courage and his family arrived and we took a few formal shots and then Hannah one of our brides from a few years ago arrived with her children, such an unexpected  treat.  Jadine then arrived in a beautiful 70’s Rolls Royce which was owned by a friend and then we whisked her into the dry church. Once again we were given a very warm welcome by the church and offered the freedom to shoot wherever, Jadine was very nervous so we chose to shoot from the back today.

The ceremony was lovely and we were soon on our way our again. The rain had eased off a little so after some hugs and kisses we grabbed a few family shots at the church and then as the guests headed back to the Marquee we took Jadine and Courage down to the river test to a specially reserved private area for a few photos.

Back to the party we carried on with photos in and out of the heavy showers but that never stopped anyone enjoying themselves. We were all very well looked after and the smiles just kept coming.

Into dinner and speeches first, They were all very entertaining today and the best man/girl/woman’s especially so, Everybody loved the emoji joke

After dinner, we carried on inside and out for a few more photos whilst we waited for the céilidh band to setup and that was the first dance, Unusual but it worked very well for these too 🙂

Eat, drink and be married…..

Lovely day filled with lovely people and that’s what weddings are all about.

Tim and Hannah get married

On Saturday we joined Tim and Hannah for their wedding day and it turned out to be the perfect way for Sue and me to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary.  This year we had decided not to work this weekend but when Tim and Hannah came along we could not resist, they seemed such a lovely couple. We were NOT wrong.

We started our day at the lovely Bartley Lodge in the New Forest with Hannah and the girls for preps, We had a fun hour before heading back into Southampton to meet with Tim and the boys at the church.  As we arrived so did the rain which was aways going to be a feature today according to te forecast, but nobody was going to let that bother them today.  Our Vicar Amy arrived and for the second week running we were greeted with open arms it was just lovely and what I call a proper Christian church.

A while later Hannah arrived and looked amazing, she walked into the church and the beautiful and very fun ceremony began. Lots of singing, dancing and celebrating. Afterwards, outside we had a break from the weather so after hugs and kisses we headed off to the New Forest to a point where we had agreed to stop for photos.  A few lovely shots then mindful of the weather we headed back to Bartley for the family groups. We managed a few outside before finishing inside but that all just adds to the fun and certainly not a problem for these too.

Afterwards, a few more couple photos, then into dinner at which point we were better off inside 🙂  It was shocking out there and pretty much continued for the day now.

The speeches were fab and Sue and I were given a lovely gift basket from our lovely couple, really made an already great day, perfect.

The evening dancing was next and after a lovely choreographed dance and the father/daughter dance the whole room filled with dancing. A pretty perfect way to end our day.

Tim and Hannah were absolutely fantastic,  Hannah smiled constantly like I have never seen before 🙂 Tim tried (not very well) to be a “groomzilla” but Hanna controlled him haha. A perfect couple, A perfect day, A perfect match. We both LOVED every minute of it.

Thank you guys for making our 33rd wedding anniversary a very pleasant and memorable one XXX

Karyn and Mark get married

On Friday we joined Karyn and Mark for their wedding at the beautiful Farnham castle and it was yet another lovely sunny day from start to finish.

After a quick cycle to Beaulieu and 05:30 I was home and ready for Farnham Castle at 10am which means we arrive at 11 and gives us that “magic hour” of just in case traffic 🙂 We had a coffee and a bite to eat before starting with Karyn in the beautiful Gatehouse just after noon. Today’s wedding was all about the gorgeous details 🙂 lots and lots of beautiful details so we had a lovely hour with Karyn and the bridesmaids, One of whom was a man again, this is becoming more popular and why not?

We met with Mark for a few pre-wedding shots too and then milled between the 2 until it was time to get married. The Surrey registrars were lovely, The lady who carried out the service was absolutely brilliant at her job she sounded like she genuinely knew the couple and it made for an enjoyable wedding ceremony.

Afterwards out to confetti on the steps and then drinks on the lawns whilst Sue and I got on with Photos.  Karyn especially wanted a few fun photos so we added these into our mix too. Our family groups went very well and the portraits were amazing around the Castle, we were spoilt for choice today it was fabulous and before long we were being called into dinner.

Afterwards, we had the speeches, just 2 today but they were fab 🙂 Mark was dressed up to look like a lady and hahaha it was great but he looked a little too good 😉

After the wedding breakfast and speeches we again spilled out onto the lawns and we took a few more photos. The sunshine shone into the night and just after 8 we were called in to cut the cake and dance.

Just as the Party started to get going we were about to head home when our good friend Kellie Jayne walked in with her daughter Pheobe, another wedding from 8 or 9 years ago and a family we know so well and we love very much. Perfect end to the perfect day.

Thanks, guys 🙂 enjoy your shopping at “toBuy”

Our next wedding is at Gaddens Manor House with Bry and Mark 🙂
