Tom and Katie’s beautiful wedding at Elmers Court

On Friday we joined Tom and Katie for their wedding day which was held at Elmers Court near Lymington and we had the most fantastic day filled with lots of fun and laughter, a little rain, loads of wind but plenty of sunshine too so all in all a 10/10 wedding day for these 2 lovely people.

We have met Tom and Katie lots of times before at previous weddings and events and at todays wedding was our previous couples and good friends Hannah and Matt and Katie and Charlie both awesome weddings and also our great friend Ellie with her partner Russ as well as loads of other friends including Charlotte who I somehow agreed to do a 100k run with next year !  I was not even drinking 😉

We started our day earlier than normal because the weather looked iffy at best so we arrived about 10am for the prep’s and the first thing we were greeted with was that the wedding ceremony had been moved from outside to inside 🙁  I knew this was the right decision but it did not make it a pleasant one. We joined the girls for a couple of hours preps with the lovely details. Lots of laughter and tears, bubbles and cheers kept the morning flowing despite the news about the ceremony.

We then met with Tom and the boys for a couple of relaxed shots as well as the rings before walking back to the bride. We had a videographer today Neil who was just brilliant.  The bride made her way to the ceremony room and after a chat with the registrars headed into the ceremony looking amazing. The ceremony was short and sweet filled with beautiful words and tears pausing only by the sudden downpour which was another sign of good decisions.  Afterwards we spilled out into the reception rooms which are quite spacious at Elmers so we continued as if we were outside. As  every moment passed the weather was getting brighter so after a while we took Tom and Katie outside to the rear porch for family photos, It was tight but dry and bright thanks to the sunshine now trying to break through the clouds.

Thankfully the rain had sopped so we took the bridal party out onto the sodden lawns and had some fun, the photos were amazing and the one below with the brollies is probably one of my favourites from the day simply because it could quite easily have never happened. It did tho thanks to us persuading Katie that this is a once only day, For Katie being up for fun and to the awesome Katie Smith for bringing such a lovely brolly 🙂  We played both inside and out right up until dinner time when we did our table shots and then had a lovely dinner thanks guys.

Afterwards came the speeches which honestly were fantastic, Im surprised Ellie never got up to say anything cos she had plenty to say all day 🙂 afterwards we took the bridal party outside for some evening sun shots and then setup our funtime before heading in for the first dance which was played by the band.

Once again this was an awesome wedding with people we just love to be with and I cant thank all of our friends enough for making the day so special especially the Codder’s and the Smith’s for your constant recommendations it means so much guys X Ellie, as always you were amazing and we both love you X

Thanks to our lovely couple for your kind words and recommendations and all of our friends too, this really is not work.

Thank you Katie and Tom, you guys were just brilliant.

X

Beautiful wedding with Laura and Ian

This weekend we had an absolutely perfect day for the beautiful wedding of Laura and Ian’s and they chose the most amazing venues too. We started our day in East Wellow at Laura’s Dads house for some lovely preps with Laura, her mum and the bridesmaids all of whom made it a great morning.  The photos were amazing and to be honest we were spoilt for choice, 5 lovely ladies, a gorgeous house and the most perfect wedding details any girl could wish for. And Sunshine! We then headed off to fairly long drive Highcliffe Castle in Dorset which thankfully was traffic free where we had lunch and a coffee in the sunshine whilst waiting for Ian and the Best Man to arrive.  Soon after we heard the familiar roar of an Aston Martin and it was a joy to see Ian driving it up the lane towards the castle looking splendid.  We grabbed a few shots of the guys and the car and rings etc before heading into see our friends the registrars and sorting our spots for the ceremony, we both know Highcliffe Castle very well so we have a pretty good plan of the day there.

I then headed down the main entrance to see Laura with her Dad and to grab a few shots before she saw the registrars and then her arriving for the ceremony and walking into a tension filled room with once very happy looking albeit nervous groom. The ceremony was short but very sweet and we were soon heading back outside into the sunshine for champagne and after a few relaxed photos Sue and I took Ian and Laura down to the beach.  A few shots on the way and then the one they wanted on the outcrop of rocks and the weather was again just perfect so we did what we needed then headed back up to the wedding.

We then watched Laura and Ian drive off in their beautiful Bentley towards the reception at Rhinefield House, another one of our favourites. Sue and I arrived first (damn good driving skills haha) and said hello to our friend David the Toastmaster and then got ready for the arrival shots then out into the gardens for an afternoon of sipping cocktails and eating beautifully crafted canapés.  Wd had a few family groups to do and got on with these fuss free and whilst doing so the Best Man managed to clock up 270 selfies, I kid you not 🙂 I am pleased to say he was the most respectful selfie hunter ever and never got in our way once 🙂 top man.  We then took Laura and Ian off for some more beautiful portraits all of which will help to make this a beautiful wedding album.

We were called into dinner and straight into speeches which were fun and entertaining and then dinner.  Sue and I headed back to our car for lunch and an absolutely wonderful Polish family gave us a punnet of freshly picked strawberries to enjoy which made our day.  Back into the room and once they finished dinner which over ran they went straight into the first dance followed by bouquet tossing and more dancing which for Sue and I marked the end to a pretty perfect wedding day with a pretty perfect couple too.

Thanks guys it was awesome X

Katie, Chris the Abbey and a little luck.

On Saturday we joined Chris and Katie for our second wedding of the weekend on what was supposed to be a wet and blustery day, its Sunday morning as I start to write this blog and wet and very blustery 🙂  Thankfully yesterday we missed all the rain and we were also luck with the predicted winds too.

We started our day with Katie and the girls and Mum’s house in LocksHeath for an hour or so’s preps and details of which there were plenty 🙂 nice dress, shoes, accessories and the tichiest engagement ring I have ever seen 🙂 all made for beautiful photographs. We finished our prep with Katie stepping into her beautiful dress surrounded by the lovely bridesmaids including Mel who we met when we photographed here newborn daughter Ivy-Rose and who kindly recommended us for the wedding.

We then drove the 20  minutes or so to the beautiful Romsey Abbey where once again the wonderful people sorted our parking out in the vicarage so it was a quick park and off to see our very nervous groom Chris. By the time we had sorted button holes and bits it was 1pm,  the ceremony was 1:30 and Chris announced he was “off for a quick beer” Like ya style mate 🙂 a quick Jack and Coke and a few photos and we were heading back to the abbey where shortly after Katie arrived smiling continually as the Rolls Royce passed me, My awesome bride was seriously NOT going to miss a photo op and I was very happy about that.

The choir led the procession down the isle and Katie and her Dad followed looking amazing, If you live locally this IS the place to get married,  Chris was literally “shaking like a Sh****g dog”  (his words not mine) but honestly it all made for the most amazingly charged ceremony and it was a joy to be a part of.

The next part was unexpected 🙂  Katie literally RAN down the isle clutching her new husband which proper made me LOL and out into the south gardens for photos,  I had previously found a nice secluded area which was wind free so hugs, kisses, family groups and confetti aplenty before we all headed back to the New Forest and the Bartley Lodge Hotel. Timing was near perfect again because as we arrived at Bartley the weather had gotten considerable colder.

We took Chris and Katie out for some couple shots and then a few friends and then the decision was made to bring the breakfast forward so we did the everybody shot and into dinner, Speeches were first once again and they were short and fun I especially liked Dad’s speech.  After the speeches dinner and and Sue and I setup our funtime booth in the bar area ready for the after dinner crowd.

After coffee the guest filtered through (get that little joke, coffee, filtered haha) and we started our fun pictures,  it was the best funtime for a while because the bride was just plain crazy for it 🙂 we took loads and kept going up until the venue needed the space for the buffet so then it was time to cut the cake and first dance drawing to a close what had been another perfect wedding, made more so because it had just started raining outside again. Perfect…..

Sue and I headed home tired but very happy. Thanks guys for making this an awesome wedding weekend.

Jules.

Nick and Frankie get married in style

On Friday we joined Nick and Frankie for their beautiful wedding at the equally beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens and it was just one of those absolutely perfect days.  Nothing to do with the weather coz it rained at times and not just the people although they were perfect but one of those days where everything just worked.

We have known Nick and Frankie for a long time because they both live within 100 meters of our studio and our children went to the same schools and we know the parents so when the wedding was announced we both knew it was going to be a fun day.  Nicks parents Jon and Kathy live right opposite us and have been friends for years and Frankie’s parents Lee and Charlie both run like me so again we have known each other a while.

We started our day at Launcston farm B&B with Frankie and there girls which is only about 5 miles from the Larmer tree and was just lovely. As always time got the better of the girls and despite Sue and I arriving early to was a last minute rush, me trying to keep a straight face as the bridesmaids were saying “I really don’t like all the getting ready” hahaha yeah whatever!

Once Frankie had stepped into her sensational dress and stunned the room Sue and I headed off to the Larmer Tree where we were greeted by the manager Gayle who was amazing and very attentive and then met with the registrars who were not. After our brief chat and the usual “I am very relaxed as long as you do exactly what i say” kinda thing and the “Listen to me if you want great photos”  Yeah ok mate give me 5 and I will give you a few tips on how to do your fecking job!

We then met with Nick and the boys for a few shots and then waited whilst Frankie arrived and walked the gardens to a completely stunned crowd for the perfect outside ceremony and just a hint of rain 😉  well its the Uk and May so inevitable.  The ceremony was just perfect and Nick and Frankie were married to a series of Whoops from the crowd who by this time were cowering under a sea of while umbrellas but somehow this worked and made a great photo.  As Mr & Mrs Fisher walked back into the gardens the rain magically stopped and we had about 45 minutes of fun and photos before it started again including an impromptu cake cutting.

We were then called into dinner early which in retrospect was a great idea on Gayle’s part because the heavens opened for an hour. Before dinner we had 5 speeches, well 6 including Nan’s but all were fun and informative especially the FOB’s 5 stages of Frankie Fisher 🙂  brilliant.  Frankie is a local journalist and often on the TV so it was no surprise that she got up to speak too 🙂  anyway all in all very entertaining speeches.  Then Dinner was served and after the mains I chatted with Nick and Frankie and we all decided to head out for some couple shots because the rain had stopped and we still had light,  I am so chuffed we did because the photos are amazing.

We then setup our funtime foto wedding booth and that went down a storm, mainly with Sally the bridesmaid haha but everyone loved it and it worked perfectly for the hour up until the first dance sung by Freddie and the freeloaders who we last saw with Jess and Rich last year.

All in all this turned out to be a perfect day, a little of this and a little of that made the perfect recipe and I am so chuffed to have been a part of it.

Congratulations Nick and Frankie Fisher you did good……

Thanks to absolutely everyone else for not only looking after us but for making us laugh, smile and shed the odd tear too.

Awesome day X
