Trevor + Erica

Let week we joined Erica and Trevor for their wonderful wedding day down in Rowlands Castle. Sue and I left home just before lunch and it was already looking to be a scorcher. We parked in the grounds on the beautiful St John the Baptist church and had our lunch, we chatted to a few parishioners and got the feel of the church and locals. We then wandered over the road to meet with Erica and the girls in there beautiful Lodge house. To be honest I could have s[ent a few hours just wandering around the wonderful house, but job to do ❤️

After a few details we headed out into the garden for some lovely pre wedding photos which is always nice if we have the time. Erica and Trevor chose our new Julian Porter Photography  4 hour wedding package so its important to make the most of every moment. After the portraits we wandered over to the church and met with Trevor for a few photos.

The ceremony was just lovely, Sue and I were made to feel very welcome in the church and the whole ceremony was delightful. Afterwards we all headed back out into the sunshine for a few photos in the church grounds. Although this was only a small wedding with around 40 people, there must have been 100 outside the church which was amazing. I love it when that happens and it certainly adds a buzz to an already happy moment with brilliant people.

Wow then followed Erica and Trevor to their reception venue which was the amazing 4 Canon Lane in Chichester which is located in the cathedral grounds. We headed off to the cloisters and then the grounds for a few couple shots before back to the guests for family groups. A few details then it was in to dinner and for us a few shots of guests around tables before we had to say goodbye.

My biggest fear when reintroducing the 4 hour weddings again was that we would loose that “special bond” we build with our couples, well that has proved not to be the case, we had the most amazing day with Trevor and Erica and loved every minute of it and felt like we were 100% part of this amazing wedding.

Well Done guys, top wedding and beautiful locations X

Sharon and William get married

On Friday we joined William and Sharon for their lovely wedding day. We started our short day at home with Sharon in Chandlers Ford for a few portraits in the garden with people that had travelled from all over the globe for the happy day, as well as the family doggies, of course. After our portraits we left Chandlers Ford and headed to Romsey town hall for the ceremony. The ceremony was a lovely quiet family and close friends gathering and in the very romantic and cosy setting of the Mayor’s parlour in the town hall Romsey.
Short and sweet but with everything that matters on a wedding day, laughter, tears, family and friends, the ceremony was perfect. After the ceremony a few photos outside before William and Sharon were driven off to the reception in a lovely classic Jag. Our reception venue was the Concord club which was actually where the couple met. After a few arrival drinks on the patio we were out grabbing some more lovely family photos as well as taking William and Sharon off for some couple shots around the grounds.
William and Sharon chose our 4 hour package so as they were called into dinner that was pretty much out time done today. A short but perfectly formed wedding day with lovely people 🙂
Thanks guys it was a lot of fun
Jules

Will and Jade-Marie get married

On Sunday we joined Will and Jade-Marie for their lovely wedding at the beautiful Careys Manor hotel in the New Forest. For a complete change it was a beautiful sunny August Sunday so lots of happy people as we arrived for preparations. We found Jade-Marie in a suite with the girls and spent an hour or so capturing some lovely details and the manic’ness of all the 5 children 😀  as well as Jade-Marie stepping into her beautiful wedding dress and her 2 brothers seeing her in her dress for the first time.

After a short walk to see the registrars we were off to get married. The ceremony room was beautifully decorated and perfectly silent as the bridesmaids and children came in one by one, Will and Jade-Marie’s son Joseph was the exception because he literally sprinted down towards Daddy. It was just perfect. Jade-Marie then came in with her 2 brothers and we had a lovely ceremony. Joseph was the ring bearer and all went very well. Afterwards we headed out into the sunshine for a traditional sword arch followed by confetti.

We then spent a couple of hours photographing family and friends as well as our formal shots and couple shots including a few in the secret gardens. The groups at Careys Manor consist mostly of the front area but its broken top into sections quite nicely and we are never more than a few metres from all the action. After out time outside we were then called into dinner and to break with tradition it was speeches first. 3 relatively quick speeches later it was time for food, Carey’s Manor is known for their food so I am sure it was delightful.

During the meal the inevitable rain came BOO! so we were inside the various lounges enjoying a little time before the party started. The DJ Toby decided to bring the first dance forward and after cake cutting thats exactly what we did, danced and played with balloons  💕 The dancing was fun but also brought our day to an end. Absolutely lovely day with wonderful people. Sue and I headed home shattered and ready for a snooze!

Danny and Dan get married

On the weekend we joined Danny and Dan for their wedding at Upwaltham Barns in West Sussex. Danny and Dan booked us a couple of years ago and we have spoken several times since then to fine tune our part of thee day, Simple really because they loved our photos and our relaxed style so we just had to do what we do at weddings, go along, have some fun and take beautiful photographs 😀 I think, loving weddings as much as we do is what makes Sue and I stand out, I know that our photos are beautiful (we get so many wonderful comments) but it goes much beyond that. Its much more about us and how we integrate seamlessly into our weddings meaning our couples rarely ever notice us.

We started our day at Upwaltham Barn, extra early because Good wood Festival of speed was on so traffic was an issue, but we rocked up and started photographing the details and general buzz. But soon enough Danny arrived and we started with the prep photos including her absolutely stunning dress and Jimmy Choo shoes as well of course, everything else too. Dan arrived on a coach from Brighton with their son Frankie so a few more shots of the boys before we were called into the ceremony.

Afterwards we spilled out into the decorated courtyard in glorious sunshine for bubbles and canapés and of course photographs. Our videographer had a superb drone fitted with a still cameras which his something we plan to introduce very soon, so watch this space, it was fun and providing not done too much added a great few photos to the wedding day. After our photos and family groups we took Danny and Dan off for some portraits before heading into dinner which was followed by speeches and then more bubbles and beers out in the courtyards. This was complimented by a Popcorn and Candi Floss machine and a beautiful fruit cart, all of which made for a lovely relaxed afternoon.

After wards we were invited back into the courtyard area for the cake cutting which Danny and Dan decided they would do outside, that was a fun twist too and why not make the absolute most of the days sunshine,. ☀️  We then headed into the barn for the dancing and evening party with the band.

Sue and I said our goodbyes and left for the journey home, Thanks guys for looking after us today, You were both amazing and a whole lot of fun. Sally you were awesome and to our good friends the Yau’s it was great to see you and catch up too.

Great wedding, great couple, great people and great venue. What more is needed 🙂

Love to you all, you really do make our job a joy ❤️

Holly and Matt’s wonderful wedding day

Last week we joined Holly and Matt for their beautiful wedding day at New Place in Shirrel Heath which is a very popular wedding venue for us.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DAY WITH AWESOME PEOPLE ❤️

Holly and Matt were recommended to us by Kimberley and Andrew who’s wedding we shot as well as their growing family too 🙂 We were actually already booked for Holly and Matt’s chosen date but on finding this out they changed their date so that we could join them, No pressure there then 😄

We started our day with Holly and the girls at home for some lovely relaxed prep shots and lots of beautiful details and of course getting to know everyone properly, before heading off to St Johns Church in Warsash to meet the boys for a few shots before the ceremony, Once there we were greeted by the vicar, again a fantastic vicar which set the pace for a superb ceremony and we were not disappointed. It was a beautiful service and a perfect start for Matt and Holly.

Outside we spilled into the sunshine for some hugs and kisses photos and then confetti before leaving for New Place, I did remember to thank the vicar for a “proper good service” he replied, “Thanks, Jules, I proper enjoyed it too” 😍 made me happy.

Once at New place, we headed almost straight into the family groups because it was windy and the weather could have been changeable, to be fair it stayed nice and I found a beautiful sheltered spot for the formals.  Afterwards, we took Matt and Holly for a walk for some portraits which just about worked out perfect for the guests being called into dinner.

After dinner and a few more portraits, we had the speeches, short and sharp and very much to the point, perfect in fact, a few tears and a few giggles.  Out into the bar whilst the band setup ready for a fun evening.

Sue and I photographed the cake cutting then into the dancing and a few dances before saying our goodbyes. A top day with amazing people again and in a beautiful venue.

Thanks everyone for such a wonderful day with you all ❤️
