New Winter and mid-week wedding packages

Due to popular demand Sue and I have decided to reintroduce our popular Winter and midweek wedding packages.  We stopped these options in 2012 simply because we reduced the amount of weddings we were shooting and because our holidays were always over the December/January period but since I have become a runner we now tend to do lots of smaller breaks and one big summer holiday like everyone else so our Winters are easier to organise than before.  I am also happy photographing more mid week weddings simply because I actually block out a few days because of the bigger races.  I love my job and absolutely adore weddings and its fantastic being able to juggle both.

We offer 3 full day packages for our off peak weddings at greatly reduced prices so please check out the links below and please share with your friends.

Our midweek options include any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday  and our off peak is from the first day of November until the last day of January.

Our first wedding of 2014 :-)

On Saturday we joined James and Kelly for their wedding at New Place in Hampshire on what was a wet and very blustery February day but I am pleased to say the windy wet weather never dampened anyones spirits and a fab day was had by all.

We started our day as we always do with the girls for preperations so lots of detail shots and the girls getting ready and of course enjoying some champagne too.

sampson_0001After an hour or so we headed off to see the boys and although we could not go outside we did get a few on the steps, as Sue always says “Jules will be the only one getting wet”  thanks Sue 🙂 as well as a few ring shots which we love doing.

We then headed back to Kelly for the final dress shots which were unfortunately interrupted by the miserable bugger of a Registrar who insisted that Kelly come right now “we are busy today” despite me finding out that they only had that 1 wedding, shocking some people !  anyway unphased Kelly made her grand appearance into a crowded ceremony room with 1 slight difference, she was carrying their Son William and it was just perfect, Kelly and James were already the perfect family with their gorgeous William and it was quite fitting that he should be part of the day 🙂 made me very happy to see.

After a beautiful ceremony we headed straight outside whilst the weather was better to do the ceremonial sword arch followed by a few chilly hugs and kisses and a quick but very effective confetti lineup, boy it was chilly and very windy but it made for some fun and very memorable photos 🙂sampson_0253

We then headed back inside for drinks and nibbles and family groups by the fireplace which were fun and sort of chaotic haha but we all enjoyed it. Sue and I then took James and Kelly off for some photos which was just the perfect end before heading into the wedding breakfast where we did our table shots which always get a laugh from the guests.

After the meal we had the speeches, 3 of them but not the “standard” 3.  First up was James with a very thoughtful and quite emotional at times speech and then came the star of the show Kelly who gave a long awaited haha speech which was lovely followed by the Best man Ollie who also gave a lovely speech we then retired to the bar area until the evening began.

The first dance was very quick, honestly I managed 1 photo before they invited the rest of the guests 🙂 then the band started and the room was filled with fun and dancing for the evening.

Our last wedding of 2013 and WOW what a finish :-)

On Friday we joined Jamie and Kate for their wedding at the ever popular East Close Hotel Nr Christchurch in the new forest and it was an extra special one for Sue and I for a couple of reasons,  firstly it was our last wedding of 2013 and its been an awesome year and secondly because we hit it off with Jamie and Kate so well when we first met that we have been uber excited about this one.

Sue and I absolutely adore our weddings and by only taking on 20 weddings each year means that we can give each one the attention it deserves and that means on the wedding day, before and after and just like with Jamie and Kate this helps us getting to know our lovely couples,  This year we photographed 24 amazing wedding and I can honestly say that I would be happy to go our for a coffee ( that really means cider ) with any of our couples and in fact already have with a couple 🙂  its such an honour and privilege doing what we do and loving it and I am thankful everyday.  None more-so than arriving home from this wedding to a message from a lovely couple who had come to see us last week about their big day from Bedfordshire “We really enjoyed meeting you both and it added to the excitement to know that you liked our ideas for the day and there would be some good creative opportunities. We love your approach and style and are very happy to know we have found what we were looking for”   That one brings us almost to capacity for 2014 which is exciting.

Getting back to Jamie and Kate’s wedding,  we started our day arriving at East Close just as Jamie arrived so we managed a quick “hello” as he dashed inside to remain unnoticed before we had a coffee and headed up to see Kate and the girls.  We spent about an hour with Kate and the girls photographing some amazing details including Jamie’s  present to Kate a beautiful Tiffany’s necklace and then we headed off to meet with Jamie and the boys.  After a few shots with the boys and the rings of course (we do love our details) I headed back to see Kate and Sue to see the registrars.

Soon after that we were all heading into the beautifully prepared ceremony room for a lovely ceremony complete with a few tears and sweeping shafts of sunshine from the beautiful crisp day we were enjoying,  then out into the bar for hugs, kisses, champagne and canapés and not necessarily in that order 🙂 before we headed outside onto the lawns for our family groups which only took a few minutes but were gorgeous with the last remaining colour still on the trees.

After this we took Kate and Jamie off for some lovely portraits in the gorgeous walled gardens before heading inside to warm up and into dinner, followed were some fun speeches and cake cutting,  I am chuffed that I got some gorgeous “chefgary type” reflections during the cutting which is never easy because we are surrounded by so many people clicking away,  We then had another hour or so in the bar before the first dance which again I managed to play with the mirrors for some reflections and again i am very happy with them.

This was an awesome wedding and a perfect way to finish a perfect year and lest rope 2014 will be as good, I have high hopes and expectations already !

Those of you that know me will know that I always say, “weddings are about people NOT places” and this year has been about people, lovely lovely people and that makes me very happy, Jamie and Kate thank you for helping us finish on a high.

Jules X

Andy and Kimberley get married at Rivervale Barn

On what was a very cold and snowy Easter weekend we joined Kimberley and Andy for their wedding on the Saturday which was help at the lovely Rivervale Barn in Yately Nr Camberley,  Sue and I are very lucky in that we travel all around the UK photographing amazing weddings and one of our favourite venues of late has been Rivervale Barn, the light is amazing the grounds are just beautiful and together this makes for the most amazing wedding venue.

We started our day with Kimberley and the girls in the preparation bedroom for some lovely relaxed detail shots as well as Kimberley stepping into her beautiful wedding dress.  We then met with Andy and the boys, Andy, Andy, Andy and Liam,  yeah it was confusing 🙂  It was not too long before the harpist started playing and we were led into the ceremony room, First the bridesmaids and then our beautiful bride who looked simply breathtaking. As her Daddy walked her slowly down the isle she never once broke her gaze from Andy, it was so romantic and the silenced room just watched and watched.  After a lovely ceremony we headed back into the main barn for drinks and nibbles and then out into the chilly courtyard for family photos which we finished pretty smartish 🙂

We then took Andy and Kimberley out into the gardens for some portraits where it was just starting to snow,  can you believe it Snow at Easter !!! thankfully it never came of anything and after a few lovely and very well planned portraits we headed back into the warn and into the beautifully decorated wedding breakfast. After a wonderful wedding breakfast and some rather emotional speeches we setup our Funtime fotos which is our wedding photo booth and we started the fun 🙂  we broke away to photograph the cake cutting which was a selection of lovely cupcakes and a top tier of lovelyness all covered in the most amazing sugar flowers. Then out to the Band for the first dance then back for the last hour to finish our Funtime before Sue and I said our goodbyes and headed off home after a very long but so much fun wedding day.

It would be wrong if I never game a massive shout out to everyone for making the day so much fun but none more that Andy and Kimberley,  cold and snowy goes so well with those warm and wonderful smiles.  Thank you X

Hampshire wedding photography Ben and Zoe get married

On Saturday we joined Ben and Zoe for our first wedding of the year and it was the perfect start, the wedding was at Lainston House in Winchester which is a lovely local venue and suits our British weather 🙂  thats a nice way of saying its fab in the rain 🙂  which to be fair is a good idea because for the most part it was a shocking day although we had pockets of sunshine which we all made the most of.

Ben and Zoe are a lovely couple and as we often do Sue and I just knew the wedding would be fab, both Doctor’s and both with killer smiles its difficult not to love them, We started our day with Zoe in the bridal suite with mum and the girls and it was a real good fun filled and champagne fuelled pre wedding party, we then went outside to meet with Ben and his 2  best men for a few relaxed photos in the grounds and of course the details.  We then moved back to Zoe for final dressing and walking to the wedding ceremony which was a candle lit romantic barn, as Zoe walked in with her Dad there was a gasp of excitement and all eyes towards her Ben’s included and she looked absolutely stunning in her Jenny Packam dress and shoes flanked by a very proud dad.  The ceremony was beautiful with a couple of nice readings then outside for 5 minutes for a few photos before the rain came back,  After 30 minutes chatting and drinking we headed into the fireplace area for family groups as well as a few important family members on the beautiful stairs before we again headed outside for a few portraits,  we had so much fun dodging the showers and it made for very dramatic and  beautiful photos.  We then headed back inside before the everyone shot on the front grass whilst it rained and then into the beautifully decorated barn for dinner.  After dinner we had some lovely and very emotional speeches and thats when Sue and I finished what was a fantastic start to our 2013 wedding season.

We would like to thank Amy and Jarred who’s wedding we shot last year for recommending us and everyone at the wedding for a great day.

Ben and Zoe,  you guys were amazing, we had such a fab day and this wedding will be hard to beat this year.

Have a wonderful Honeymoon

Jules and Sue xx
